More information about the idea here below:

When the first image of the map will be seen, we can discuss about the army bonuses, the (attack/defense) positions of the countries, gameplay and more
Gnome already made a Belgium map, but it was [abandoned] and it became a Death Project. Gnome told me and others in the past, if someone wants to take it over they can take it over.

So I wanna make a new fresh start and after a lot of brainstorming I will give it a go... but not as a regular country map Belgium, but the country Belgium as a strategy map with a goal, i.e. City Mogul & Feudal War. The working title will be:

show: Belgium - Battle of Languages

So let us know what U think about my idea for making not a regular map of Belgium, but a strategy map instead :?:

No, it isn't. But its to bad that the other Belgium map is just another regular country map. Belgium needs more, with the name of the Regions, provinces and so on. And not only points for holding continents. Otherwise IMO its only another regular map. If you make a country map, you need to put everything in it like I already said about regions, provinces, capitals and so on.
Belgium is not just a country.... See for yourself the other map I've made: BeNeLux (and playable on CC).

And with the strategy, it can be more then just a Belgium map.

With a lot of help from my Belgium mates (in my clan and on the language forum) we can make this working out with all the official names in it. By the way, I'm form the Netherlands and speak te language and nknow history of Belgium a little bit.

I would deffinently be open to using these suggestions on my map currenly being made but I don't know the names of teritories in different languages. For the names of the territories I actualy just used cities that I found using google earth. Any expertise that you have on this would greatly improve on my map.

I think this is a real cool idea. I'm a little uncertain about the details of the gameplay though, but the concept is strong. Perhaps if you gave each language territory a capitol (like the french speaking capitol could be around the french border and the flemish around the dutch border) and the rules could stipulate: hold the language capitol and 5 regions of the opposite language area. Or a language capitol, Brussels, and some language areas.

It's a good concept and I think it could make for a successful map. Best of luck and I hope to see it done!

Thanks you will be open for some suggestions, but as you say yourself, you found everything through Google Earth. What I try to do is to be so close by the Belgium folks themselves. As you can see on some posts of them in this thread, they wanna help me. Also I placed a suggestion thread in our Dutch Language forum (De Veroveraars Club) and the Belgium mates wanna help me out with borders, names and strategy as well. I do appreciate your artwork, but making only a regular map with names found on Google Earth isn't enough for me and IMO not enough for the Belgium and Dutch members. But then, you have to asked them

Above message is not for cracking down your work, not at all! But IMO their are a lot of regular maps of countries on CC and its time to make more out of a country, i.e. the fantastic battle maps of qwert.

Thanks and a great idea of yours, I shall see what I can do with that one and jasper_be had also a great idea of creating another victory gain, by balancing the languages in sort of way (that must be also worked further out).

At first glance:

The borders seem good, though theres a few tiny spaces, which I don't know if you intended it that way or plan to use the smaller areas.

It needs a key, are the rovers going to be impassible?

The terrain detailing makes it a bit difficult to look at, maybe tone it down a little, though I don't think that getting rid of it is necessary.

Also, some sort of color coded regions would be nice. Three regions in black, red and yellow/mustard?

Na, I think those are just the continents.

Anyway, I think you will have to do something with the typeface or scale back on the background texture because at this point it's a bit much to handle. Good graphical start and you've really put some thought into it!

Yes, the smaller area in the North belongs to the Flemish Region and the smaller area in the South belongs to Walloon Region. The middle smaller area is Brussels Region.

It needs a key, are the rovers going to be impassible?
Just working out the details of the areas, later we must think how we must create impassible or possible borders.

The terrain detailing makes it a bit difficult to look at, maybe tone it down a little, though I don't think that getting rid of it is necessary.
At this moment your correct.

there will be a legend for all regions and provinces.

Thats correct, so called provinces.

They will not be on the country later on, this was just a first impression with the provinces in it.

WHy doesn't MarVal use his expertise and just put this on captainwalrus's thread then captain walrus can add it to his map and you two can work together to make it and both get the credit. I dunno but it seems like that would work best.

And what does IMO mean?

I agree totally, but how should we do that? Cause the graphics and regions aren't the way I like them.
