not sure I understand. If you mean move the legend to the right corner, and extend the map borders so it's not the "floating" map, then I can't do that. It wouldn't be right since this is the map that was voted for.

I was saying to move the legend more to the left corner, and extend the brown and yellow outer border so that it makes a box around the legend.

Have you guys read the thread, or looked at the old Brazil map?
The impassables are not supposed to look like anything, and RJ was told specifically to NOT make them look like mountains or rivers or anything.... they're fine as they are, and I think they got a bit better in the last update ;-)

The only thing that irks me is that the font on the minimap is different from that of the territory names - but this could just be a matter of personal taste, and my personal dislike for handwriting-style fonts that look too obviously like they're fonts and not genuine handwriting!

I know it's a trivial thing...but would it be possible to have the name of the map change to Brasil with an S instead of a Z as it's written in Portuguese?

There's the ordem e progresso motto in the background and I would like to see Brasil written in its native language.

Also another small thing...is non crossing borders grammatically correct? I always thought it wasn't on the old map but I'm not sure. Wouldn't non crossable borders be better?

I'm not at liberty to make these decisions. We'll need to get Marv in here.

Splendid looking, RJ. Good size for the text. I don't have any more critiques at the moment.

Thanks Andy.

Changes / Updates:
1) Fixed the non-crossing border color on the legend to match the same color on the map
2) Changed font style of the minimap region names & numbers
3) Added signature
4) Created small map.

Several borders on the small map had to be fudged a bit in order to get region names and/or circles in them. I don't think anyone would really notice unless they are specifically looking for it. Marvaddin has not logged in to CC since December last year - I don't know if he will be involved in this revamp anymore.

Anyone care to do the XML for this map? Your name will go in the bottom right !!

I'll do it for ya :)

Anyway, the only outstanding problem I can see is that the text is a bit … thin on the large map. The glow or what have you seems to blend in, and that takes off from the clarity of the names that it should've helped with. How does the bold setting (or Faux Bold if that doesn't work) look?

EDIT: Oh, and I'm not crazy about the red glow around the impassables. Seems kinda sloppy.

rj, you forgot the N in "Triângulo" on both the small and large map.

I love the way this looks! Vastly superior to the original.

Optimus Prime has already asked me to do xml via PM. I'll verify that he has time to do it soon, if not - killing asked second so he can do it. I'll let you know.

The type-o i'll definatly fix.
Not sure I agree with the "thin" font, but I'll tinker with other styles.

Thanks guys.

As with the other revamps, it is imperative that the territory order remains the same as that of the existing map (so that games in progress don't get messed up). Probably the easiest way of doing it is with a find/replace on the current XML, and then adjusting the army coordinates...

So what you're saying is specifically around the xml - correct?

The names / bonus regions / attack routes do not change. Just the re-centering of the armies.

Does anyone prefer the new font style? It's bolder, which looks nicer in the larger territories, but it also makes it seem more cramped in the smaller territories.

Yes - specifically the XML - the order that the territories are listed in the XML must not change ;-)

And I say go with the new font ;-)

I love the new font, it's a lot easier to read on some of the territories.

And I love what you've done with the map, something I never could have if my revamp would have been followed through to the end.

Well done RJ. =D> =D>

Hmm, it does a little look cramped down south. But I think some of that owes to the overlapping lines on Foz do Iguacu, and the close one on Belo Horizonte. Up to you — I don't mind either, though I'm liking the bold because there are only ~5 territories I think are troublesome.
