Clickable Maps :: Version 4.12

Postby sherkaner on Tue Dec 22, 2009 2:06 pm

Old thread by Edthemaster: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=33227

What is Clickable Maps
Clickable maps is a greasemonkey script that adds the possibility to click the circles on the map for deployment/attacking/forting.
It also adds the possibility to perform actions by pressing a key, and change the keys per action. For example, the 'b'-key is the default key for starting your turn.

How to install
For installing greasemonkey, see the following thread: viewtopic.php?t=41487
If you have Greasemonkey installed already, just click the following link, it will try to install immediately: GET Clickable Maps

Changes in version 4.11/4.12:
Changed fetching of script so it works with ads.

Thanks for the update, sherkaner. Great work as always! :)

Some time ago I had made the suggestion for a feature for BOB that made it possible to auto-attack until your opponent only had X amount of troops remaining. I just realized that clickable maps has a very similar option, except that it's based on the number of troops remaining on your territory.

I am wondering if, perhaps, it would be a good feature for clickable maps instead? Seems like it would be an easy one to implement as well, since it should be a case of copy/paste with a few variables changed.

Sure would make City Mogul games a lot easier to deal with :)

Unfortunately my clickable map has gone haywire!
The circles appear in the wrong place when i attacking and when I first try to attack I get messages like "you can not attack Japan from Japan". Any suggestions anyone. I am a forlorn pickle :(

Adding to the calls for help. I have noticed that the "you cannot attack X from Y" error fixes itself when I refresh the map.

Yeah, I remember that option. Problem is that I'd want the site to offer that functionality, I can simulate it but it's not that easy to simulate, especially because the server tends to be a bit slow at times. I think it suits BOB better, and I've learned a few things since I last considered that change.

yes, it looks as if when they re-worked the site, and moved all the refresh info to the top, it threw off all the circles. and when you first click on a terit to attack from it, it gives you the "you can not attack X from X" as well as not giving you the correct options of who you can attack from the terit you are on. you have to click OK on the error box and then click the refresh button to get the correct attack points. Just glad I'm not playing speed games :) If you just click the link to "get clickable maps" at the top of the forum it will reinstall and work correctly :)

This may have the same problem as BOB with Jquery.

When using clickable maps....When it is time to advance...I get a pop up window to confirm the move..anyway top get rid of that....it would be quicker without it.

Not using jquery for this one, only reworked a small bit of the code. But it looks like a BOB-problem.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but every time I conquer a country and move forces into it the screen jumps down to the controlled countries drop down list. It just takes away from the awesomeness of clickable maps having to scroll up each time. Is there anyway to maybe change some settings and fix this?

Thanks so much

You have an option 'Appearance->action menu:float' if you don't have BOB, or in BOB 'view options->HUD' which solves part of your problem.

But I've heard that before, so I'll check the code to see whether it can be removed.

If you don't mind, plz tell me why my screen goes down every time I advance. Irritating... esp. in a freestyle speed game while sweeping the top half of the board. If it's not just me, can you please find a way to fix it?

Isn't there a "Jump to Map" option... try turning it off?!

Why are some territories on some maps broke? I can pick out about 4 places where CM does not work on it. 3 are on British Isles 2. Other one I have found is on Oceania.

Edited to add:

British Isles:
Essex and Cambs
Lothian and Borders
Dumfries and Galloway

Oceania:
Willis and Furtuna

Thanks!
ChipV mentioned the "&" sign being a problem with calculating. That should be a good start for you. He said it should be an easy fix. Thanks again.

Maybe it's a bit harder than that, I couldn't duplicate it here (played a british isles game, but I could deploy/attack on the mentioned territories). I guess you use the latest version, any ideas about what could be different about your system?

(EDIT:) Found it, advancing is the problem, the rest seems to work though.
