That would be very cool. I mean, there's periodic tables out there that are colored by their elemental properties (transition metals, noble gases, etc.)

Very very cool idea man, kudos

Hmm. Would Strontium and Yttrium share a border? And if they do, then shouldn't Magnesium and Aluminum, as well?

I think the borders should be between Strontium and the Lanthanides/Actinides since they're technically all in that section.

It'd be the Oceania of the Periodic Table

How about a new thread for that periodic table idea..

And its too........blocky...very.....bland

How about new suggestions now...back on track.

This idea, i'm quite sure is impossible, but i think it'd be cool anyway. A solar system map in which the planets revolved around the sun very slowly, so you would not be able to attack from one country to another each turn.

I envision a city map. Not of any particular city (or at least one not widely known). The map would somewhat be like a normal map, except that in order to hold your 'continents', you need a 'Power Supply' or 'Transformer'. This idea branched from Jota's idea of shared countries for continents in the Space Map. I think some sort of 'Power Supply' idea could be interesting for play, since it wouldn't be too similar in feel to Jota's Space map idea, though you could argue that it is.

So like an infrastructure incorporated into the map. In which no matter much land you have, its useless without the necessities to run a country.

Ok, what about this...I don't know if it would work or would make sense...

What if you had two maps, completely separated, no interaction between the two. And on each map, there were complements. Like, to own oceania you have to own oceania's infrastructure region as well. What it would offer to the game would be the necessity to divide your troops up, you can't focus on one map, cause you will definitely lose. It probably wouldn't work, but what do ya think?

I'm not sure two different maps, but that would be interesting. I think the hardest part about that would be space. But I like the 'infrastructure' idea.

Cool idea, sort of like Alice chess, where you play with two boards and men captured on one board are sent to the other. I like it, except one problem for the maker to deal with is how do you get back onto the other map if you're wiped off of one? I feel like there'd need to be a portal.

When I was thinking of the Chariot Races idea (don't worry, I'll get back to it sometime), one of the alternate circular/spiral maps was a black hole, where there were two black holes in opposite directions, and the only place you could go from the territory that was the eye of one black hole was the periphery of the second one, and vice-versa, so that on both boards your armies can only move towards the centre of the black hole, but the periphery of each board is still vulnerable from the centre of the other. Maybe for your idea, each board could have a territory that is the exit from one map to a receiving territory on the other, but the exit does not also receive - two one-way portals.

After some thinking, I thought of perhaps another twist on an already made location. There currently is a USA map, and a soon to be Future USA map, so I thought 'why not travel back in time'?

I started to think about what was around then. Colonies...etc. Then decided to go back even further--Native Americans. Perhaps some sort of map, where you could control say 6/7 Native American empires would be an interesting and perhaps final conclusion to the USA as a whole map idea. I was looking at some resources, and found...

Native American Nations
Map 1
Map 2

---Perhaps though making this map would be too many maps for a given location. Also, it might be difficult finding names for 'countries'. You'd have to do some research and look at maps of the various Nation's areas. Perhaps towns or small regions would be the 'countries', continents being 'Seminole Nation', 'Cherokee Nation', etc.

As I've been notified this was the place for my idea to be, not in the main forum, I'll repost it here, and wait for Andy to delete the other post

I've been thinking of newer projects, and thought about a trip I made to a nearby castle here, and thought it might make a good map.

People are always saying that they want it to represent something, and you could take over a typical medieval castle.

Image

It's a random plan of the castle I found, and its not gonna have anything done to it, it's just there to represent my idea. I want a castle, with towers, battlements and the rooms inside able to be conquered. Then maybe the drawbridge and the outside around the moat able to be conquered.

I thought up a very unique idea as well. From the battlements, archers can attack people the other side of the moat, but the archers cannot move to the other side of the moat, so maybe being able to attack, but not to conquer, would that be too hard to code? I'm not sure...

I may not have the time to after the Japan map, but if anyone fancies taking this on, it could even make a nice 3D map...

Maybe it would be even more interesting with the surrounding areas, like that medieval region, whats the name in English, feud? So you could add villages, swamps, forests, cultivated lands, etc...

Hmmm, maybe a kingdom of a phantasy game like Heroes of Might and Magic, with some other places and creatures... I think I could do that, but I would need help with the graphics...

A Caribbean map would be pretty cool if Central America, Florda, And northern South America were added.

What about a D&D map of Faerun, or maybe the subterranean areas where the Drow live?
