As coach, do I get to choose which player is replaced after the game or is it strictly based on who gets eliminated first?

It is based on who is eliminated first, so that every member of the team gets some ice time.

However, being Coach means you stay in even if eliminated first, unless it occurs 3 times in a row.

If there is a player that isn't working with the team or just causing problems, I'll allow for a team vote to remove that player, but otherwise you'll need to work with the full lineup.

I've considered allowing the coaches to choose their lineup for Overtime period only. Do you guys want that option?

UPDATE: I've added a poll. If it passes, I'll allow this addendum to the rules.

1st period has ended and we're back with the 2nd after a brief intermission.

Sweden & USA are both up by a goal.

What happens if there is a tie after the round robin games? Will there be a one period shootout? I suggest, if such a situation should occur, the one period shootout be a quadruple match-up, consisting of the Coach, Captain, MVP, and Coach's Bench Selection, and the winner goes to the Gold Medal Game and the loser goes to the Bronze Medal Game.

I was expecting it to go by goal-differential, and/or whoever did better in the games the teams played against each other.

As Echospree suggests, the tiebreaker would depend on whichever team won when the two faced each other. However, now that you mention it, I realize that there are scenarios where this would not be enough (3 teams could finish 2-1, without a clear leader). In a 3-way tie, it would be difficult to do a shootout type tiebreaker, so I would err towards the goal differential, but again its possible for all 3 teams to have the same # of goals, so additional games may be required in that scenario.

At any rate, let's see if that scenario occurs first and then I'll put some more thought into it. :)

The proper 3rd period game between USA v SWE has now been sent. Sorry for the mix up.

Next set of games will start this weekend. Once those wrap up its on to the medal rounds - and since all 4 teams are tied at 1-1, these next two will determine who plays for Gold and who plays for Bronze!

Canada shows its dominance against the hapless Swedes in a 4-0 rout.

3rd period is under way for the Russians and Americans. The US team needs another "Miracle" to tie the game and win in it in OT.

Who will join Canada in the Gold medal game?

Team Canada has skated another flawless period, allowing only 3 shots on goal, and extending their lead to 2 - 0. The Gold is within reach

Both medal games are one-sided affairs with Canada and Sweden dominating the first two periods. Its now or never for Russia and the USA - will they bring their A game to the 3rd period?

Gold medal game
Canada 2 v Russia 0
3rd - Game 7449665

Bronze medal game
Sweden 2 v USA 0
3rd - Game 7449669
