May I suggest a better way for you guys to start this usergroup.

Put it on the back burner, and instead, Start an Assasin turny. Pick a format that has at least 72 slots. Then throughout the turny send invites to those that are deemed worthy. Then when you have a few dozen followers, then you apply for the usergroup. ;)

It is a good idea. However a tourney like that could take 1-6 months to complete. I think some in here wanna get started earlier than that.

How about i send a BCC email to all of those that signed up in this thread, and ask if anyone is interested in leading this usergroups. Of those that volunteer, then we can take a couple days to choose the 1 or 2 qualified candidates.

hmmmm, thanx for the nominations guys.. i wouldnt mind leading this social group.. but it seems like skillfusniper33 has some good ideas.. as i am already leader of a Competitive clan.. i think it would be best if we had a guy who isnt already running a clan to become the leader of this group... i wouldnt mine being the co-leader... but im not sure if i would have enough time to make this group all that it could be if i were to become the leader..so i Nominate skillfusniper33 as the leader of this group.. and if yall want... as i said.. i wouldnt mine being co-leader, i could help skillfusniper33 out with some tips about clan/social forums :P your call :)

There are ways to make a turny that does not take to much time. Say you have 72 players. Set up 27, 8-player games. Thats 3 games for each player. Then award points for 1st, 2nd. 3rd and 4th. place finishes. Something like 6,3,2 and 1 respectively. The player with the most points accumulated wins the turny. Besides it does not really matter how long it takes. You are only running the turny to find some good players. and weed out the rest. The pms can start going out shortly after the turny has started.

We could also look at old tournaments that were assassin, I know DJ Teflon has hosted a few too (Russian Spy) conquerAce has held a few (Black Ops). And if they are in the finals we may want to contact them.

I was in a couple of the Black Ops tourneys and finally quit joining them because there was always some moron ruining the games. You know the type--the cadet that goes down the list of open tournaments posting "in" in all of them without even a glance at the instructions. Anyway we have enough people to start this group now. Why not have a tournament or two after we're formed as a way to find new members?

p.s. I've kept my list of players who definitely should not be allowed in to an assassin game

skillfusniper33, if you would like to run this user-group, I suggest you send in an e-ticket ;) It seems the players want you, I see no reason to wait any longer :)

I suggest that after we become a usergroup, we run a few assassin tourneys, with something on the top saying how it is dedicated to this usergroup, with a link to the recruitment page. Then, when each rounds games are sent out, somewhere in the PM that is sent to the players we can add a side-note saying how the tourny is dedicated to the usergroup again.. It would spread our name around to players that enjoy assassin games.

Also, I suggest that, if skillfusniper33 accepts the position, he creates another recruitment thread, since he is unable to edit the first post of this one.

I am the Founder of The Mapmakers Guild, and I might be of help when it comes to getting this group started. I do not have too much time to devote to another group. But I do have the time, to provide any art work that we may need. Speaking of art work, I have whipped out a sample sig, that you may want to consider. It is yours to use, as you see fit.

The current title of the group, sounds way too much like, just another flash in the pan competitive clan, IMO.

The name Assassins, is a much better title, in that it is more descriptive to the nature of the group. And I just loved that comment, about the two asses with an in at the end. That can actually be cleaned up and used, for branding purposes in the future. Something to think about anyways. But, whatever name that you settle on, I will be happy to provide the needed art work, if you wish.

Why don't you set up a page in the forum and have a bunch that we can choose from. Maybe with a combination of assassin and knives between the ribs. We can start with this one and then move out from there, when you have more time go ahead and make a few more. Let people choose what they want on it.

If you haven't noticed the usergroup is officially running now, and some starter games have been posted.
