FIRST ROUND SCOREBOARD AT BOTTOM OF PAGE 3

The pace of Initechs has slowed, but the intensity has only picked up. Polar Wars has turned, in my opinion, to a wonderful event. With other Initechs finally finishing up, I feel I have time to oversee the 22nd edition. It will follow the path laid out in the last event, with a couple twists. Without further ado, I give you: Initech XXII: World League!

OVERVIEW
36-player, 2-round, 124-game, 43-map tournament. There will be three groups of 12 players, with the top 2 players from each group advancing to the Finals where the final six players will faceoff for the championship.

ELIGIBLE PLAYERS
Premium only, sorry. You'll need more than 4 games open at all times. Due to the length of this tournament, I will also only take players with at least 50 completed games.

RULES
All games will be Sequential, Chained, Flat Rate, Foggy.

There will be three first round groups: Americas, Europe and Rest of the World. Within each group, each player will play 5 six-player terminator games, 4 four-player standard games and 4 three-player assassin games for a total of 13 games. The top two players from each group will advance to the finals.

The finals will consist of 10 games, all of which will be 6-player in nature: four standard, three terminator and three assassin. The player with the most points is tournament champion.

POINT SYSTEM
Throughout the tournament, the following point system applies:

Each standard map win is worth 15 points.
Each terminator map win is worth 5 points, with each elimination worth 2 points.
Each assassin map win is worth 10 points.

There will be a total of 490 points available in each first round group. Each player could score a maximum of 175 points in the first round.

MAPS
In the first round, the following maps will be used:

Americas Group, assassin: Canada, Greenland, Puget Sound, South America
Americas Group, terminator: Brazil, Caribbean, Charleston, Montreal, San Francisco
Americas Group, standard: Chicago, Fractured America, Great Lakes, Vancouver

Europe Group, assassin: British Isles, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg
Europe Group, terminator: Benelux, England, France 1789, Iberia, Malta
Europe Group, standard: Europa, Germany, Portugal, Nordic Countries

Rest of World Group, assassin: Asia, Australia, Madagascar, Mongol
Rest of World Group, terminator: Africa, Indian Empire, Japan, Middle East, Oceania
Rest of World Group, standard: Cairns Coastal, Hong Kong, Indochina, Soviet Union

Finals Group, standard: Classic, High Seas, Land & Sea, World 2.1
*Finals Group, terminator: Group A, Group B, Group C
*Finals Group, assassin: Group A, Group B, Group C

*the Winner of each first round group will get to select one assassin and one terminator map to carry over to the finals from their original group (this has to be a map played in their group and it must be in the format listed above)

FORMAT
First Round
There are 38 games played in each group: 16 assassin, 12 standard and 10 terminator
Each individual player plays 13 games: 4 assassin, 4 standard, 5 terminator
The two players with the most points in each group advance to the Finals.

Finals
There are 10 games played in the group, all of which will be full 6-person games: 4 standard, 3 assassin, 3 terminator
The player with the most points is tournament champion.

TIEBREAKERS
In the first round, the first tiebreaker will be the most points won in common games (matches where the tied players were both involved). The second tiebreaker will be most standard map wins. The third tiebreaker will be most terminator map wins. The fourth tiebreaker will be a tiebreaker game played on a map of the organizer's choosing (from the qualifying group) with standard settings but no spoils.

In the second round, the first tiebreaker will be the most points from the first round. After that, the tiebreaking system follows the first round tiebreakers listed above.

REGISTRATION
When registering, indicate which group you want to be in. If you indicate no group, you will be placed by the organizer once two groups have filled up.

Important Tournament Notice

The data for ALL of my tournaments has potentially been lost. I am working to recover it but as I am away on business all of this week, there will be some delay. Sincere apologies.
