Are the top 32 still advancing? I know you didn't get all of the 150 or 160 players you wanted, so I was wondering if you were still taking only the top person in each group or the top 32 players.

I'm taking the top in each group:
jrh_cardinal wrote:Here are the groups. With 95 players there will be 19 groups of 5. The 19 people that advance to the bracket round will be ranked 1-19 based on how well they did in the round robin (see first post), so seeds 14-19 will have to play a matchup in the first round, seeds 1-13 will get a bye.

I would take 32, but at the time I didn't think taking multiple people from the same group would work as well with the changing maps format, so I just stuck with Group winners. I guess it wouldve been fine to take 32 still, oh well.

most people joined their second try, Juilin and pitters31 (both Group 7) did not.

Reahma is the top reserve left, so he'll replace the one with the best record, Juilin
SupremeRebel will replace pitters31

woolleyy and Reahma invites sent, waiting on SupremeRebel's map/settings

Just to that 32 player from 19 groups issue.

If u don't plan doing anything tricky. Solutions I can come up are that taking extra people guess ones with highest points.

Other thing u can do would be making bottom 6 point gainers (from winners.) to fight each others to get it to 16 ppl. That way it would remain about same. Just one one round played and starting from 16. Guess basic bracket rules would be simplest and fair. Maybe not being able to change maps. dunno

jpcloet brought up a good point. For people advancing to the bracket round, if people were replaced by reserves in your group, what map will you be stuck with?

In order for a map to be considered your "worst", you have to have played on it at least half the rounds (so at least 3).

umm.... since that response, i guess u didn't get what i ment. I was indeed making a solution where only winners advance. Actually that was my main point with that comment so might want to read it again ^^ (those 3 last rows)

If u don't go with that. Then u'll need to do round robin like rotation/s instead of 1v1 match ups. 19 is tricky number since it doesn't come from any multiply u'll most likely need to go with sumttin at least in some level what comes to player counts. I just thought that bottom 6 winners playing each others to get it 16 could be simple. I don't rly mind what u decide. I just want to get rid of my absolute coin-flip map as soon as i can (so when i get to pick opponents map first time) cos i'm kinda hating my sunny, flat rate, tamriel. well i've only played 4 games, but each have ended before second to go has even moved :/

Yeps that 3 minium rule is very reasonable xD

btw that's pretty lucky to come as reserve and advance after playing only 2 or 1 round ^^ well i won 12 and lost 2 at start (2nd and 3rd set when i came) so guess that might reach, but prolly still quite a stretch.

I posted this when the tourney started, not going to change it on people now. And yes, I know that's what you posted backside

Backside wrote:btw that's pretty lucky to come as reserve and advance after playing only 2 or 1 round

that mostly meant if someone else in your group is replaced by a reserve. So if someone other than you were to win your group (I know it's not gonna happen), they would not be stuck with a map they played once on against the guy you replaced. They could, however, have Hive as their "home" map, since they will have played you 4 times on that map.

I haven't really looked yet, but I know there are people who didn't join in the first set of invites. I'll try again tomorrow night, then I'll have to go begging for reserves to play even though they'll have 0 chance of advancing.
edit- actually much fewer than normal, only 5 people didn't join, plus 1 guy only joined 3 games

Oh oops yeh sry. Didn't notice >_>

Well eh.... that's y i said 3 min. rule is reasonable (for those reasons and some other). That being lucky to advance by only playing 1 or 2 was just cos.... well that would be pretty damn lucky xD

now all second invites sent, sorry for the delay. If reserves are necessary, I'll do it sometime over the weekend

And I'll update standings once most of the games are finished, its much easier to do it all at once

Andwyn (Group 7) just missed one invite, so he gets a third chance. If he misses again he forfeits that game
bigm1234 (Group 14) forfeited his games since he has no chance to make the playoffs
Egel (Group 16) will be replaced by Moop

edit- waiting for moops home map
edit2- invites for moop's map sent, hopefully these will be the last invites I need to send
edit3- Andwyn forfeited the one game because he missed the third invite

Sucks that I didnt really have a chance to make the playoffs due to being a reserve that took over in round 3 of the preliminaries for a player with almost all losses. I went 18-6 for my 3 rounds, but was handed a 4-12 record for the person who dropped out. :(

there are three games ongoing, at least 2 of them effect playoff seeding (maybe who makes it), so I'm going to wait for them to finish before updating
