Toledo Rockets, Battle for Iraq, Foggy, No spoils, chained... please. You don't kick people out if they are on vacation for a couple of days, do you?

good question Crown...I won't kick people out for missing on vacation and such, but I ask that you pm me to give me a heads up, so I don't confuse it with deadbeating.

I am asking freebies to keep up with the pace of play...6 maps a week, and the forfeit rule is to avoid deadbeats and to keep me from sending out repeated reminders to the same players all season. But yes, vacations, family emergencies, etc are understandable and expected with a tournament of this duration that runs through the holiday and such. :)

This doesn't make sense to me. How can a game be tied if OT goes 16 rounds? I didn't think there was ties in college basketball.

Good question Viper...

If an overtime map goes 16+ rounds...that overtime period would end in a tie, thus a 2nd overtime map would be used and so forth until a winner is found.

I'm expecting overtime to be pretty rare, and multiple OTs to be even more scarce. But if a game gets to a third OT period, then the winner of that 3rd OT will get a bonus point essentially deciding a winner at that point.

The news just got worse for Gonzaga fans. VOL has announced that he will return as the coach of the Bulldogs, but not the Bulldogs that Zag fans were hoping. VOL will not return as coach of the Gonzaga Bulldogs and has instead taken the coaching position for the Butler Bulldogs.

The news comes on the heels of their Sweet Sixteen loss last season. The Zags were beaten in that round despite being the number 1 seed in The West and spending more weeks as the number 1 ranked team in the nation than any other team.

VOL's New Settings: Flat Rate, Adjacent, Foggy

Reached for comment, VOL said this, "As a rookie head coach, I led Gonzaga to a 27-9 record. It was a magical season that ended in great disappointment. But I am very satisfied that although I lost my match-up basically on drops, that the regular season and post season format changes will eliminate further such occurrences."

VOL added further, "I would love to stay and try to build a dynasty at Gonzaga, but the opportunity at Butler is an opportunity for me to clear my mind and restart fresh."

VOL further joked, "I think it's good to get out (of the WCC) now anyways. My team went 14-4 last season in the West Coast Conference (including the conference tournament) and I'm sure there are plenty of coaches that will be quite motivated to beat me."

The coach leaves with a 23-8 regular season record, a 4-1 postseason record (2-0 in the conference tournament and 2-1 in The NCAA Tournament) and 27-9 record overall in one season at Gonzaga. There is speculation that his newly hired assistant coach, patrickaa317 will be his successor.

UW-Milwaukee coach flexmaster33 isn't putting out any welcome signs to the newest coach at Butler.

"If he thinks he's going to walk in here and do what he did at Gonzaga last year, he's fooling himself," flex said. "This ain't the West Coast, this is the Horizon League -- you have your ACC, your Big East, and your Horizon. There are no cakewalks this year Viper."

When asked why the league had seven current coaches openings at the likes of Cleveland State and Detroit-Mercy, flexmaster was at a loss for words.

"I can't really explain how other school officials handle there business, but I know the pressure to win in this league is immense," flex said. "Now, if you're finished with your stupid questions, I need to game plan. We need to work on our neutral territory attacks and avoiding auto-assault no matter the situation."

Team list updated through here...

115 total teams so far...the Big-10 and Ivy Leagues are filled.

I have 2 players, who will be assigned teams later...if you have no preference on a school, just post when you sign up and I'll fit you in where it works best.
