Bounced emails and server stuff

Bounced Emails

As you can imagine a website with many members like this one gets lots of emails bounced back. Game invite notifications, forum topic subscription notifications, even notifications of multiple account violations... what to do with them all?

The best thing to do is inform you so you can update your account with a correct email address and stay in touch. So now you will see a message on the screen when your emails bounce back - with a link to the Control Panel where you can update your info.

Server Tweaks

There have been 5 server crashes in October and November, one lasting a whole hour [-X But thanks to the help of our hosting company we got to the bottom of the problem and fixed it :D

We also tweaked some database settings to fix a 5 second site-wide slowdown that would happen once or twice a day.

Now our servers are looking healthy and seem to be running smoothly!

I got the message saying that my e-mails were bounced. I clicked the link and it took me to the control panel to change my e-mail. I did so and it said it was accepted, but as soon as it got back to the control panel screen, my old e-mail and old password were still there, as if I never updated it. Does this mean that I did something wrong? Or did it all get accepted, but still shows up wrong?

Thanks for being on the ball as always lack. This site wouldn't be the same without you.

An activation email was sent to your new address... you have to click the link in it to make the switch.

maybe if people used a real e-mail when they signed up they wouldn't need to have this in......

I did and I got the notice, but I am still getting my emails from conquer club. Soooo... it shouldn't be bouncing, unless AT&T is doing something funky on their end again. (I had a ton of mail all end up in my spam folder that shouldn't be the other day, so I figure they were doing filter upgrades. :p)

I get all my turn notifications from info@conquerclub.com just fine (even though until just now, it was not one of my contacts), so I don't know what e-mail has been bounced. In fact, I still have the original activation e-mail from that address. I am going to click the "go away" link but I do wonder if the site is confused.

I got a bounced email notice. I went to control panel to update new email address but guess what? I can't seem to remember my password. What can I do about this?

To "real" email person, maybe some people don't have a "real" email address.

Do you not type in your password to log into CC? They are not looking for your email password.

how hard can it be to get a yahoo, msn, aim, gmail e-mail.... any REAl e-mail would be better then a FAKE e-mail.... they should just deleate any acc that has a fake e-mail that way to get rid of all the non needed space for the site...

A cpanel can only have so much and thats what they are gonna have to do eventually is deleate all of the banned players and deleate all of the fake e-mails
