Hmmm... on my HTC inspire today (EST), I've had full bars, but CC won't load, and won't even attempt to load to pages, and just says they are unavailable.

For a couple of months now there has been a lockup of games when the dice history is crunched each morning at around 5:10am CC Time. I managed to reduce the lockup period from a couple minutes to about 30 seconds. I will have to take down the database sometime and de-fragment the dice history data to resolve this completely.

Oh that's awesome.. honestly for me (and probably a lot of people) I don't play freestyle games but I do sometimes play speed games so 2 mins in a speed game is a big deal but 30 secs is nothing.

As far as I can tell, the 6pm Korean time killer lag problem has now been fixed. Thanks so much!

Not sure if It's my own internet connection, but I've been getting a lot of:

The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I'm not sure what that means, my guess is that it's your connection.

Me too. I get something like "Communication with the server is running out".

It's only on CC, other sites work just fine....

Been lagging all night, getting the ten second thing then i have to click my games and go back into the game then it lags again. Between the lag and the auto refresh this site is starting to lose its appeal....after a 2 and a half hour game...laggin out to lose when I would have won. Very frustrating.

Oh sorry I was in the middle of a turn had just cashed, trying to deploy...lagged out 3 times. The ten second statement. Then deployed, had about 2 minutes in my turn left got half way through the attacks. Lagged out a few more times. Then didn't have enough time to finish my elimination by 3 territories.

I don't see anything in our logs, s3xt0y. It looks like your internet setup.

I don't think its my internet, I have fibreop, and I don't have any lag issues with anything else but CC. But I could be wrong, other players in the game mentioned it was laggy as well.

Slowdown after the site went back up. But I suppose that's to be expected?

Many times you will not see problems with other sites, yet it is indeed your internet. Most times you are not playing a game where it is refreshing as much as CC is.

Hopefully it had time to stretch, too. Wouldn't want it to pull a muscle now ;)

Thanks!

Not only timeouts...also the game changing attacks during the timeout. Which is a nightmare! And it leads to a higher number of double yellows...the game gets stuck in a certain set of outcome.

Ah well...not that you play this game serious

Lack,

Just a short one. I appear to be getting "lag spots" every 3 or so seconds. It is only happening on Conquerclub, has been consistent for the past 30 minutes or so.

Cheers

Too big lag to play speed game

Postby Moonchild on Wed Nov 23, 2011 3:56 am

Operating System: Windows XP
Browser: Firefox Mozilla
Scripts/third party programs used: BOB+clickies+assault odds+map rank GL / NONE (see below)

Concise description:
  • I played 4 speed games at once of which none worked properly. Every time firefox gave me that usual error weather I want to wait another 10 seconds for page to load or not, it was that slow that, EVEN WHEN PLAYING ONLY ONE GAME, it was impossible to make a turn, of taking, let's say 12 territories, in 5 minutes. one game was lost before the issues started (first turn was okay in all games) but the other 3 I was in great advantage what can be seen from gamechat (pardon my cursing there, you must understand how i felt). One of the games ended with another player being kicked out for missing too many turns.
You will see in gamelog that it took forever between turns, and even starting a turn took forever (that little time between pressing begin turn and being ready to deploy armies was taking approx a minute or so!!!)

These were the actions taken to eliminate possible causes:
-tested internet on other website of which some were USA based as CC server is, everything worked fine, except CC
-turned of all script thinking about that there might be some issues with that
-today on same PC, same connection, works perfectly

please fix that because I do not want anyone else to relive that frustration!

i had same problem a while ago ended up ditching firefox and and reinstalling latest verson then added grease monkey and all the scripts with latest updates that worked for me.

Most of the reports about lag have been isolated to individual users, and not a site-wide thing, except during the early morning hours in the USA, where the server does a catch-up for a few minutes.

The servers are in Texas I believe, but regardless, you shouldn't have such a problem. You might have a problem with you DNS or something....
