That being so, it doesn't mean it cannot be changed, afterall it is not an english country inhabited by naturally speaking english people.
Anyways, back on topic ....Pot Mosbi (in tok pisin) is the name of the map.
Let's move on eh? :)

I like the new text. The texture on the land territories makes the map as a whole look cluttered, though. I'd either try a different one or ditch it entirely.

At any rate, could we get a sticky/draft stamp?

fine looking map you got here cairns.
just 2 things for now:
1. some continent shapes in the legend don't have the same colour as the continents on the actual map. this may lead to confusion. (example: gerehu, mid wes)
2. there's a terit in the boroko continent that has no name. it's the one right bellow pmhs

PS: congrats on the stamp

1. yes i'll have to re-do the legend continents with those same colours and remove the inner glows on them
2. i knew i had missed one. thanks for the pickup - Karabosea is back in next version.

Haven't got anything negative to say about this one. Awesome, beautiful, inspiring, positive and fun. All because of the graphics. Can't wait to see how it will look when done.

i don't know what others think but the Napa Napa Inter Oil Refinery is a really long name and it distract me. wouldn't it be better to use an acronym like you did with PMHS?

one more thing, the rivers and the pools(?) in the top right corner have a thin black stroke but the big lake over there doesn't.

edit// the little ship is blurry

edit2// waters solwara doesn't connect to anything

Thanks for those DiM, i'll get onto them for next version.

In the meantime, GAMEPLAY...
i know there are a lot linear regions and this is a product of creating regions as well as geographics...but are there any other gameplay issues

I really don't like the continent explanation. As the continents are presently arranged in the legend, they don't match up with where they are on the map. Would it be possible to move the legend's continents so they are roughly below the continents in question? I realize this isn't possible with the parks and utilities, but for the rest it should be.

On an unrelated note (to gameplay), your tribesmen are the weakest graphical elements on the map.

no the rearragnment of continents below where they are on the map is not possible, since that would place most of them over on the right hand side on fo the map.I will however look to see if a better arranngement of where thay are now can be made.

on the tribesmen...yes that's what happens when bit maps are reduced from large to small versions. :)

Inland Saut and Gerehu should switch places. The rest follow a fairly logical North-South-West-East approach.

It might be worthwhile to adjust the color of the Viles so it doesn't correspond to the Waigani Ponds. For a bit I thought those were a part of the bonus, since it took me a bit to locate all of the vile territories, and I noticed the larger blue areas over the smaller ones.

Ah, Andy, to me those 2 colours are miles apart. But i will adjust something so they can't be mistaken.

Andy, please f5 to see that adjustment in v6 below

I love the impassables in this map! Most mapmakers have a hard time with the trees, but I must say they look brilliant already.

Yeh gillipig, thanks, I'm pretty happy with them also. the mountains around PM around low and flat but not peaked as opposed to mountains in the rest of the country which are still not peaked but much higher.
The trees do look good and indicative of this area.

Regarding the impassable legend, the glow or fuzziness around the text is a little hard. Maybe go with the style of text you have in the bonus legend.

The killer neutrals mentioned in the legend are the solawaras and pasis? What does Walters connect to?

The bonus legend takes some getting use to. Some of the continents have recognizable shapes, and others are closer to one another. It might be just that the large map is tall, which means there is a touch of scroll between looking over the legend and looking at the top of the map for corresponding bonus zones. The small map may not have such a problem.

Looking at the game play, it looks like every tribe is set up access to a easy/middle range bonus zone. Highland, Asaro, and Enga might have some of the better expansion possibilities while limiting borders. Motu might fit into that group too.

Hm, best of luck.
