[Rules] Restrictions on New Recruit Games

Postby jgordon1111 on Mon Oct 17, 2011 10:00 pm

stop the farming of new recruits

Stop farming of New Recruits whether intentional or otherwise

Make the New recruits unable to join games outside the five player range until after they have achieved at least the rank of corporal, and make it at the same time higher ranking players cannot join games of anyone below corporal.

This will stop intentional farming of new recruits or anyone being accused of farming them. It will also allow new recruits a chance to know CC better and play any map that they want. That way they wont get into games over their heads.Instead of them getting that first promotion which is alot of times cook and not really understanding how to actually play different maps. And it will also keep someone from just creating an account and joining games and never coming back. Also if a multi has to Bring his multi's up to corporal rank he may not be so fast as to decide to use multi's ;) Also once they have achieved corporal no matter how low they drop they can still play any game or map and the higher ranked players can join those games

I don't like this because it won't get any new people here. They'll end up only playing against other NRs and have a bunch of deadbeat opponents and not come back themselves because they think that it's a crappy set up. They need to be able to play against others. I am fine with limiting who they are able to play against to something like Lieutenant and below. I think that's reasonable for a 5 game period.

But if they are told up front that once they achieve corporal rank they can play any member the serious ones will stay to play.It would be like a trial period and If they are told about SoC training academy another benefit.Send out a welcome message to them as soon as they join that explains this. The players that are serious will feel more welcome the deadbeats will drop like they normally do anyway. It keeps the games fair and from being ruined by inexperienced players. The good ones will get promoted quickly and move into the everyday games. The others will hopefully join SoC training then move into the games with the ability to play. And no new recruit farming.Saving everyone alot of accusations and temptation. Also cut down on multi's

A no from me - I think the list of maps that NR's can't join is enough.
Also, If you don't want to play with those under a particular rank, then you can post your games in the "Callouts" section of the Forum.

I think that further restrictions on what NR's can do - apart from the barred maps - will harm the retention of new players.

I do think the Poison Rome ( a C&A thread about which started this ) should be added to the list of maps that NR's cannot play.

all of this can be easily sorted. make games private and post them in one of the following places.

all these groups operate on a set password. people who say they cant stop new recruits from joining games it is false info if you use these groups you can prevent it.

also i do agree that if someone makes a game and new recruits join it is not there fault. if it is a map they always play then they are not farming. if they are using a map to medal chase they are not farming. if it is a new map to them and they see new recruits are only players joining then they are only creating the same game but it does not fall into the above two mentioned reasons then they are farming.
