It's "free for personal use". That means you can use them for personal, non-commercial use, ie. you may not profit from them.

CC maps are considered commercial use, as lackattack makes money from this site, even if the mapmaker personally doesn't profit from his map.

It's the same with fonts, by the way. When you look for fonts to download, you have to check that it's completely free, or public domain. If it's marked as "free for personal use" then you can't use them on CC maps, or any other commercial projects.

The planes will go into the same style of the ships, easier that way. But I have sent them a mail to see if they would be amenable for me to use them.

I haven't looked much at this map but here's some things I noticed: The woods looks a bit like bushes, and not very pretty bushes. The ships doesn't look integrated in the map. They look like they're sitting on top of the map instead of being a part of it. And I'm not sure I like the colour theme. I would suggest either making all or most of the land territs have the same colour (green ?) but different tones. Just a thought.
A map with both planes and ships should make for interesting gameplay. I'll have a look at the gameplay later and let you know what I think :) .

Gillipig, the woods stay as is. I refuse to change them. They are good woods. The trees in the RD map are the first version and after 30 odd versions, no one noticed that the final trees where the ones first posted. I am not going to go through that again. The ships are there for icons. They may change. ;) Still deciding on which way to go. Unless I go for a top down view, they will always look on top of the water as the perspective would be wrong. Sniper08 made a comment about making them like the Cuban map, but that is the only part of that map I do not like so will not be copying that approach. As for the colours, they stay as well. The earlier versions had the all green approach and people complained that they found it hard to tell the bonus regions apart. The different greens looked funny and made it harder for the CB people.

I must insist on the woods thing! I find them awful and absolutely not up to par with the rest of the map. A lot of maps have/had the same issue. It's hard to make vegetation look good so it needs a lot of tweaking and it often takes a lot of time. I'm not trying to be a pain in the rear just stating a concern I have. If everybody else thinks the woods are fine though then they probably are fine.

Insist all you like. They will not change till a majority say so. So far it is one to change.

Now that we got that sorted, any chance of a game play stamp or some changes from the mods that will get it for me. ;)

Mods, I know you are busy and RL takes over, but can you give this the once over and let me know of any GP changes that need to be addressed.

Hmmmm ... I'll take a close look at this, and once I familiarize myself with it, I'll give you my comments.

Nothing new gameplay wise. Changed the towns symbol, mines, took the bottom two pixels of the ships and cleaned up the legend.

On a side note, it is the 30th anniversary of the conflict next year.

The Falkland Islands, sovereign British territory since 1833, were forcibly seized by Argentina in April 1982.

That act lead to the 74-day Falklands War, which was won by Margaret Thatcher's Task Force, and which cost the lives of 258 British servicemen and 649 Argentines.

As of right now, I'm not seeing any glaring problems with gameplay. I'll get a couple of others to take a look at it.

Looking good - but the aircraft kind of disappear on my notebook screen, maybe the image could be embossed a little (or some'nk like that)?

And I forgot this graphics thing. For some reason I don't think the Argentinians or the Brits had or have the A-10's. Those Chinooks yes, but not the A-10's. You might want to replace them with a replica of the aircraft they used. Such as the Harrier.

Planes can go through a redraw, no problem now that I have learnt how to do it.

Press refresh.

Lay of the mind altering substances.

If you still do not see anything, I can suggest a good optromotrist. ;)

After heavy sedation I see a wonderful hue of change ... would be nice but not mandatory of course ... if the planes had a more structure about them, like embossery or outline or a shadow or some such (hint ... maybe cut and paste and play with the plane imeage and them paste it back or something ... or ... ) .... er

Here is the Harrier in the plane strip. Gave both vountries a different lighter colour. Not sure if it was needed but the came out allright. ;) A little smaller than the other aircraft so might need to increase the size a bit.
