I just can't seem to win.

I can't seem to come out with a win at all. I played 6 games, and lost them all. I know I'm doing something wrong, but I'm not sure what it is.

The problem is that many, many, of the players here have played for many years. It's tough for a beginner to jump right in with the sharks.

Keep your chin up and try to learn from your mistakes. It's nice to win, but there's a lot that can be said for just making friends here.

Just look at it this way. When your first win does come, it will that much sweeter.

Thats alright, its just 6 games.. If i look back at my history, I think i've got about 20 games finished.. I won two.. and in one, my ass was just saved by my partner..
Its sort of funny in a depressing way.. :P :(

Try playing with teammates and watch them and have them tell you what to do and you can learn from them

Don't sweat it, I think I lost my first 5-6 games also, and I was DEAD LAST for a short while, and hung out at the bottom five for almost two weeks, but I'm actually doing ok now, so just relax, and keep playing

Try and go for a easy continent to defend (australia or S america) Then go from there. Never go for asia. I mean never It gives 7 troops but you wont ever be able to hold it (unless if you double turn with it) And keep trying. Repitition is the key to getting good at all games.

Ive got nothing to say that no1 else hasn't, but get used to losing games from time to time. Alot of games depend on a fair bit of luck. And getting delt a great hand off the start can make all the difference. In one of my 1st games, one guy started with every territory in europe 'cept iceland. He promptly took that one too.

Look at the bright side, you didn't get a taste of victory and THEN promptly lose 6...

one thing about this online game is that you can't pick and choose where to set up your armies at the beginning of the game. I find it is easier to join a game with unlimited fortifications, that way you at least have a lil bit of a chance to have some sort of build up if you get decent countries. That would be my advice. FORTIFY, FORTIFY, FORTIFY.
BEST OF LUCK,

don't worry just keep playing and you'll win eventually. was a total noob and at one point was at the absolute bottom of the scoreboard. i was feeling like a total chump but i kept at it. then last week i got my first win and then another win right afterwards. yesterday i wiped out all 4 opponents in one round. what a rush! :) anyways...just hang in there and you'll pick it up.

.... My rank score is hideous, but hey, I don't give it a lot of thought. I'm having a blast, and like Scarus, I'm meeting all manner of good people here.

... And watch the "pros". I've already learned so much from these guys - what continents to go for first and which to avoid, how to concentrate your forces from the start, et al... It's a learning experience, and a fun one!
