Welcome to the first Quarter Cap of Jim’s Tourney Series. This is guaranteed to be one of the most exciting and intense tournaments you have ever participated in, so I’m glad you’re here!! Welcome to your chance to get the 16th pick in the Grand Finale bracket!!!!!
Information about the Series as a whole is available here: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=140939
Tourney signups for the series will be put on a short delay while this one is running, at least until it reaches the later phases, and we’ll start again moving from quick tournaments to slower ones over the course of the 2nd Quarter. Due to a lack of interest, the 2014 World Cup tournament has been rescheduled for the 2nd quarter cap. The first quarter cap is now Indigo Battle, inspired by the Pokemon Indigo Plateau Conference!!
All Games are 1 v 1. The challenge is simple: Compete in as many games as you like across 4 map groups: Rock, Grass, Water, and Ice (each will be identified in the label of the game). New games will continuously be created over the time allotted for the preliminary round. The 32 players who get at least one win in each group, and play the FEWEST TOTAL GAMES qualify for the next round.
At this point, each of these 32 players picks SIX map/setting combinations. Players are then placed into random matchups, and within each matchup, each player chooses one of their opponent's six maps to challenge. If the player wins the challenge, he crosses out that map for the remainder of the round. This process repeats until one player has eliminated three of their opponent's maps, at which point they advance. If both players reach 3 crossouts simultaneously, then a game is played on each of the 6 (three maps each) remaining maps. Whichever player wins more of these 6 games advances. If these are also split 3-3, best of 6 series are played alternating between the crossed out maps and the not crossed out maps. Once all matches are over, the winners advance and are randomly paired until only 1 player remains. Good luck!!
