So I came up with a new idea: How about a series of 64 tournaments, of varying format and on varying boards, each with a theme? The winner of each gets to participate in the GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP, a NCAA basketball style tournament, with predetermined settings for each matchup! Win more than one, find yourself on multiple bracket lines and more chances to win it all. The winner of tournament 1 will get first pick of the 64 slots, tournament 2 second pick, and so on. Some tournaments will have teams, some singles. Some have Fog related settings, some Spoils settings, some on certain boards, some on any board.
Information about the Series and the Finale bracket are available in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=89&t=140939
This tournament is inspired by a Nintendo DS challenge: Mario Kart's Shine Runners!! This is a 1 v 1 random map tournament with simple rules. In each round, you will play one game on a random map against a randomly chosen opponent with (mostly) standard settings, but spoils will rotate in the following manner: Escalating, Flat Rate, No Spoils, Escalating, Flat Rate, Nuclear. After 6 games have been played, the player(s) with the fewest wins (including all players tied for the fewest wins) are eliminated. The process is repeated after every 3 games thereafter, until only 1 player remains. If there are an odd number of players in any given round, one player will play against me. I will not otherwise be playing in this tourney. Good luck!!
