70th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor

Postby Gilligan on Wed Dec 07, 2011 3:00 pm

Today, as many of you may know, is the 70th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor bombing. Today is often a day of commemoration not only for the loss of human life at Pearl Harbor, but for all human life lost in World War II.

Most of us on Conquer Club have only indirectly experienced this momentous event---and World War II in general---through our history books, through our parents and grandparents, through documentaries and films and the like. And though our experience with this history has been largely indirect, Conquer Club can similarly commemorate the loss of human life at Pearl Harbor and during the whole of World War II, in our own unique way: by playing some games on our own Pearl Harbor map, while keeping close in our minds the events of history.

I invite you all to start up a game or two on the Pearl Harbor map, or join one our Official Games we've already set-up.

Written by AndyDufresne

Official Games

Win an official game and earn a general achievement medal! Various game types will be held on the Pearl Harbor map, with default settings (Automatic, Sequential, Escalating, Chained, Sunny and Casual). You may join only TWO games, and no more than ONE of a game type! If you violate this rule, you will not receive a general achievement medal! The password for all games is: 70th, Limit of ONE General Achievement Medal per person.

Click here for awaiting official games!

are these going to me more similar anniversaries, related on some other importan dates?
Like begining of American Civil War,Battle of Austerlicz,Battle of Actium,D-Day omaha beach assault,Europe 1914(begining of WWI),Battle of Stalingrad,Texan wars,Battle of iwo jima.
I mean, you have many importan dates, and many importan battles. I hope that CC are not restricted to anniversaries who are related only where US are involved.
Dates for comemorate loses of life in WWII its not same in all countries.

This is a special date because it is the 70th anniversary. In 3 years we can put up the beginning of WWI, in 4 years Austerlitz, etc. Example...We probably won't have Pearl Harbor day next year.

too bad the map is a mess regarding the gameplay balance. otherwise i salute the idea of the event. i wish we had more and more of these :)

In eighteen months it will be my 50th birthday. That gives you plenty of time to design a Prague map..:)

hey, the fact that the map is broken doesn't mean we can't have fun :)

i joined a doubles game and the other team got a bonus of 28 from the start while my team got just 18. to top it all off they start first so one of them takes his turn and their team has a bonus of 33 while we have just 15.

i'm sensing a very short short battle

Gotta say... this was the easiest win ever.... Game 10218821

Doubles, lucky enough to go first and break all the first opponents bonuses, fort to partner, first opponent cant do anything, then partner goes and breaks other opponents bonuses... No chance.... :/

the cards don't help either... i remember when it was truly broken and you could pass troops THROUGH the airplanes!!! like, if you had a gun and a plane that could be shot down by the gun, you could pass troops through the air that way. it was GREAT!!! that lasted 2 games before it was fixed! it is a pretty map, just wish they would fix it...-el DiM negro
