bummer just eliminated myself from playoff contention with a loss in Buffalo...here's hoping the real Broncos can wrap up the West title and put it under the tree for Christmas morning :)

Unlike the real Cowboys, the HA Cowboys are finishing strong--hoping to get home field advantage throughout. Beating Tampa last week and Phili this week the Cowboys are 10-5 and it looks like Tampa lost this week as well dropping them to 10-5

Not sure about Minni and StL

Here's the NFC playoff chase breakdown with a link to the official procedures at the bottom. I'll post the AFC breakdown later tonight.

NFC PLAYOFF CHASE
#1 MINNESOTA (10-4) — The Vikings have the inside track for homefield, but still need wins in their last two games to clinch that top seed. One win will be enough to wrap up the NFC North.

#2, #3, #4 — TAMPA BAY, ST. LOUIS and DALLAS (10-5) — These three teams enter the last week of the regular season in a deadlock for the #2 seed and a first-round bye. Dallas holds the upper hand with head-to-head wins over both the Rams and Bucs. The Cowboys have clinched at least the NFC East title.

WILDCARDS
GREEN BAY (9-5-1) — The Packers clinch at least the #5 seed with a win over Detroit to end the year. Green Bay win the NFC North with a win AND a pair of Minnesota losses.

SAN FRANCISCO (9-6) — The 49ers can win the NFC West with a season-ending victory over St. Louis.

PHILADELPHIA (9-6) — Philadelphia cannot catch Dallas in the NFC East. The Eagles hold a head-to-head win against San Francisco, but lose the head-to-head tiebreaker with St. Louis.

CAROLINA (9-6) — Wins the NFC South with a win AND a Tampa loss.

ARIZONA (8-7) — Can join a jumble of teams for the #6 spot with a win AND a Carolina loss AND a Philadelphia loss AND a San Francisco loss.

WASHINGTON (7-7) — Can join a jumble of teams for the #6 spot with two wins AND a Carolina loss AND a San Francisco loss.

• The #6 spot could feature a tiebreaker between a multitude of teams in which various tiebreakers will decide the spot based on the NFL policy...linked below.

Here’s a link to the official NFL tiebreakers, which we are following for this tournament.

NFC playoff picture updated to include Arizona and Washington, who still entertain outside hopes of reaching the bracket.

Here's the AFC playoff breakdown...a lot of possibilities on this side.

AFC PLAYOFF CHASE
#1 OAKLAND (11-4) — The Raiders have the inside track to homefield advantage in the AFC, but still need a win or a tie against San Diego in the finale. Oakland holds the head-to-head tiebreaker against Buffalo. A loss would drop the Raiders down to the #5 spot.

#2 BUFFALO (11-4) — The Bills gain homefield advantage in the AFC with a win AND an Oakland loss. The Bills are the #2 seed with a loss OR with a San Diego loss.

#3 CLEVELAND (9-6) — The Browns are the AFC North champs with a win. Cleveland holds head-to-head tiebreakers over Tennessee and Baltimore. A loss would put the Browns into the #6 spot.

#4 TENNESSEE (8-7) — The Titans win the AFC South with a win OR with an Indianapolis loss.

#5 SAN DIEGO (10-4) — The Chargers win the AFC West with a win. A loss leaves San Diego at #5.

#6 PITTSBURGH (8-7) — The Steelers win the AFC North with a win. A loss sends Pittsburgh into a logjam of potential 8-8 teams.

BALTIMORE (8-7) — The Ravens gain the last wildcard with a win AND a Pittsburgh loss. A loss OR a Pittsburgh win sets up a chain of tiebreakers.

INDIANAPOLIS (7-8) — The Colts claim the AFC South with a win AND a Tennessee loss. A win and a Tennessee win could leave Indy in a mix of 8-8 teams for the final spot.

DENVER (7-8) — A win AND a loss by Pittsburgh AND a loss by Baltimore would land the Broncos in a mix of 8-8 teams for the final spot.

KANSAS CITY (7-8) — A win AND a loss by Pittsburgh AND a loss by Baltimore would land the Chiefs in a mix of 8-8 teams for the final spot.

Looks like i will probably end up winning the division, though not over yet, Patrick Willis has made some great stops and given the ball back to Frank Gore ready to put the nail in the coffin.

So what happens with St. Louis? wildcard? i guess we will have to wait and see how everything else crumbles

If I am looking at things right the Vikings will lose on a last second field goal in week

Dallas will win to end up 11-5 --I think this might be enough for home field advantage through out

The AFC bracket is set...note San Diego and Buffalo have bye weeks with San Diego facing the lowest surviving seed from the wildcard round.

The NFC teams are set...Green Bay, Minnesota, San Francisco, St. Louis, Dallas and Tampa Bay, but the seeding remains up in the air with a handful of Week 17 games wrapping up.

Thanks to all who played the season...we'll be back with this one again next year. Teams at .500 or above will get a chance to reserve their spot with the same franchise in 2012-13.

Also, a heads up, I'm working on an "Intense Football" tourney to be released most likely in the spring, so pay attention to the tourney forum if you like football tourneys...I'm guessing it will start up sometime in March.

looks like my 49ers won when they had to (week 17 to win the division and possibly even miss the playoffs if lost) in St. Louis where they were previously undefeated. Curious to see how all the seedings come out as i believe all records are at least 10-6 unlike the girls conference ... er i mean afc

We are synced up with the NFC bracket now complete as the real NFL heads into the wildcard weekend as well.

Minnesota takes the #1 seed based on better Conference record compared to Dallas and Tampa
Dallas gets the other bye based on its head-to-head win over Tampa
Defending champion St. Louis sneaks in as the final wildcard based on its head-to-head win over Philly in week one, as a handful of quality teams just miss on the NFC side.

thanks for playing all who didn't make the playoffs...hope to see at least some of you again next season :)
Best of luck to those still fighting it out.

And for the real NFL playoffs...go Broncos!!!
My 4-year-old son is claiming the Steelers as his team this year, so I broke down and bought him some Pittsburgh t-shirts this morning. It's going to be a tense afternoon in my basement come Sunday afternoon :D

You have Minnesota winning on week 16 when in fact they lost 19-17

This gives Dallas the number one see in the NFC

Please recheck the scores

Looks like you never added the 18 round win by Washington which nets them 3-0 with the 16+ rounds = three points
