Format
The Poker Royale will be run in three stages:
Stage One: The first stage is a swiss-style tournament stage. Each player will compete in five rounds. Matches for later rounds will start only as soon as all players in the match are ready. After each round is finished, I will evenly divide my trusty 52-card deck(no jokers) into groups of 4 cards, one for each game. Each player, in order of their placement in their game in that round, will get to look at and choose one of the cards in their match's group of cards. Players will not be able to see the cards any of the other players from their match picked. The players with the top 16 hands will advance. In the event of a complete tie for the last available position(s), one single elimination match will be held.
NOTE: Due to how this tournament is set up, more than one deck of cards will be in play. Players are forbidden from selecting a card identical in suit and value to a card they already possess.
Stage Two: The second stage is another swiss-style stage, but will work differently. Players will be dealt 5 cards for their hand to begin the stage. Players will then compete in another 4 rounds. After each round, 20 cards will be randomly selected and split into 4 groups of 5, one for each match. Players will then in turn order elect whether to keep their hand or swap one of their cards for one of the cards in their match's group. The players with the top 4 hands will advance. Again, in the event of a complete tie for the last available position(s), one single elimination match will be held.
Finals: The finals will consist of one, single elimination match. The winner of this match shall be crowned the Poker Royale Champion.

General Achievement Award
Approved by DJ Teflon at CC Time: 2011-12-06 6:22:00
As you may have realized, the hardest hand to acquire, as can be said in standard poker, is the royal flush. While it is somewhat hard to achieve in the second round, it is almost impossible to acquire it in the first round. Therefore, as an incentive to try your hardest to get first place in the first round, the first player to form a royal flush in the first round will receive a General Achievement Award.
