[Invites] Invite Players Upon Game Creation

Postby ronsizzle on Wed Nov 11, 2009 2:32 am

Concise description:
  • Put a box where one could invite people to games while creating them
  • One for each team

Specifics:
  • while you are creating games, you can invite people, making the site smoother and faster

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • will make the site faster by allowing in-creation invites
  • will prevent unwanted joinings without using a password except for back-up

Such a good idea. The back and forth from starting to inviting (as you mentioned) is a royal pain. If there could be a drop down of friends and/or space to type in a player's name...all at once, would be great.

Sure. I don't see why not.
The invitation function already exists, and there should be no problems with having the invitations on the game creation page since you can batch it and add the players after the creation event for the game.

You have a vote from me for this.

I support this idea fully especially for tournaments. Like most threads here it will take a while to be looked at.

I like this suggestion - this would also ease the fear of inviting the wrong people to tournament games!

It is a good, practical idea, especially for tournaments. I've been in the situation where I'm creating dozens of tournament game, then I have to go and get those games and invite people one by one. Like so many other suggestions, it would probably take a lot of work. Still, a good idea, and I'm sure if you have a clear finalised proposal it will get a look in.

Cheers, JB ;)

Invite Players within Start A Game Menu

Postby Ickyketseddie on Fri Jan 06, 2012 7:14 am

Concise description:
Have fields available when making a new game to invite players to your game instead of doing so induvidually from the awaiting players tab.

Specifics/Details:
When creating team games (or standard games for that matter), from the Start A Game menu, if you want to start a few games it's a bit of a pain inviting a team to your side as you have to hit several screen to invite each player, so if your starting several games as many of us do it is a little annoying. If possible, when starting a new game and you have selected the number of players you want in the game, and the game format, you get the invite option at the bottom to enter player names into boxes, or use your friends drop down list as you would induvidually as it currently is. Then on hitting submit the game is created and invites are sent together.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
Just a comman sense observation to make the site a little quicker/simpler. This also stops people joing your team before you've had a chance to invite those you want to play with.

Having a random fill your game before you invite someone is very annoying. Also skillful on the part of a person who can join your game in the 10 seconds it takes to change screen and invite someone.

Im suprised this has not been suggested and implemented sooner....

I believe the TO group has been discussing this as well. I know I would love this and make tournaments so much easier to run!

Not really many extra tools. Just the ability to create tournament games.

I do support this. I didn't say anything because it's been suggested before and generally has a lot of support. Especially with TOs.

I think this could be implemented at some point, but who knows when that might be.

+1

I'm actually going to sticky this. We're hoping to get some invitation updates this year. So, let's see if we can push this forward.
