Show Teammate Territory Cards Owned in Italics

Postby dazerazer on Sat Nov 12, 2011 3:12 pm

Mod Edit: This suggestion is submitted as teammates territories will show in your spoils under italics since bold and bracketed are not discriminated easily. - James K

DoomYoshi wrote:In a standard game with spoils (no team-mates) it says:
My Spoils ([bracketed] if owned): Spoilg:Track A3 Spoilr:Track A1 Spoilg:Track E3 Spoilg:Track I2

You can see that i dont own any, because there arent any brackets.

Also, my team-mates spoils are shown by:
lilice's Spoils ([bracketed] if owned by teammate): SpoilN1- Trieste SpoilD6- Holland SpoilW3- Leipzig SpoilB8- Marshal Tito

So, if lilice owns one of those territories, he gets a bracket. what the suggestion is asking for is a way for me to look at my spoils and see if lilice owns one of those territories.
Also, a way for me to look at lilice spoils and see if I own any of those territories. It was determined, the most visible way to do this would be with italics.

Original Post wrote:Concise description:
  • Show Teammate Territory Cards Owned in Bold

Specifics/Details:
  • If I, as one member of a team, own the card of territory belonging to a teammate, the card also shows in bold just as if it was a territory I owned myself.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • I thought specifically of this during a nuke team game we were playing on a complex map. I knew which cards I had which were mine however it took a little while to make sure I did not nuke any of my teammates. Additionally if this had been a speed game, it could have been detrimental. So the benefit is to easily and quickly determine in nuke games which terits belong to your own team. Thank you kindly for the consideration! ;)

BOB does this for you, and if you turn on indicators (top right of the map screen) it clearly identifies those territories that will be affected by the cards you turn in.

I know for sure that if you hover over it, then you'll see it marked on the map. Regardless, whether the function is available for an add-on or not is not the question here. Some users don't use add-ons, or specific ones for whatever reason, and I think it would be good to have your partners bolded as well. Assuming we're thinking the same thing, this would really take a boring hassle out of having to decide whether to cash or not in nuclear games.

Perhaps it would be useful to show spoils in bold for territories you hold (as is done now), and in bold italics for territories your teammates hold. This type of information could be useful in games other than those with nuclear spoils.

Yes. I'm actually combing 2 things together...

BOB: If you hover over the spoil underneath the map, the territory will be highlighted on the map.
SITE: If you click indicators (top right) then when you are choosing which spoils to turn in, look at the map. There will be dotted boxes around the affected territories.

Put brackets around a teammate's spoils if he has the region

Postby Conchobar on Mon Apr 02, 2012 8:15 pm

Concise description:
  • In team games when you click [show / hide teammate spoils] have brackets around any regions they occupy.

Specifics/Details:
  • Just exactly as with your own spoils, that have brackets around any region you occupy, put brackets around any of your teammates spoils that correspond to a region they occupy. Maybe different shaped brackets than those on your own spoils just to distinguish them.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • It will save checking & finding each of the spoils regions to see if your team mate is due any bonus or the equivalent for nuclear. This can be especially irritating in quads games.

I have quite a few suggestions for this site, but don't feel like carrying the banner for them. It makes me happy when someone else advocates something that I've been wanting for a while, but never got around to posting as a suggestion.

So, here is my support.

Excellent. I'm happy to hear some positive feedback. I have also been wondering about this for quite some time but only discovered the suggestions forum recently. I'm told that things in here can get put on the longest of fingers but this seems like it should be a fairly simple thing to implement so hopefully it won't take a very very long time. Thank you all. :)

Good idea, I wonder why nobody has suggested this before.

So is there any chance of this simplest of suggestions actually happening? I've heard this forum is notoriously inefficient at making progress...

Just keep checking by occasionally and showing your support. Active topics are, if not more likely to be implemented, then less likely to be rejected.
