I like a lot also number 5, I was really disappointed to not see it in the final phase. :(

Guys, it looks really good (for example mountains are beautiful):

+1

also, i'd like to point out that all those that voted for map 2 and 7 but not for map 5, have no artistic sense whatsoever. map #5 should have easily taken second place without a doubt. 2 and 7 simply pale in comparison to #5.

I agree! I was shocked that it didn't even make it to Round 2!

Wow, my first contest victory. Thanks to everyone who voted for me!

I also agree that #5 would have deserved to be in the final round... it has a really nice colour palette.

Big congrats to Mr. Dread. For a guy not from around these parts you captured the north american culture quite nicely. You're becoming quite the map making legend.

I agree with number 5 being in the final 3. I made number 2, but I think it was rather sloppy as far as lines etc. Tisha's map was better than mine. Congrats Natty!

Dim did you do 6?

Can't seem to post in the official competition thread.

I have to be totally honest, knowing who made which map probably would have made me vote different. Hats off to nobody for running this the way he did.

Now, just out of curiosity: Who made which map?

I like the aesthetic of this map. It reminds me of those kitschy tourist maps, or maps for amusement parks that aren't really maps. :D

Best of luck. Congrats to all participants. The look and feel of Map5 and Map6 can probably be used with wholly new ideas as well.

my map was awful.

i wanted to do something completely different than what the end result was but i utterly failed.

I think the artwork was really great in your map, but the gameplay interface is a bit confusing... if you had spent more time making the map clearer & easier to read it could have been a winner.

Boo-ya. 8-)

I like where you were going with it, DiM, but connections were a bit hard to understand at glance.

yep that's the part where i could not get something clear so i just drew up some lines. and figured i'd fix it at a later date. so i submitted it like that and told tnb i might change it.
then my computer crashed and by the time i recovered my files i had lost any desire to further work on my map.

i actually spent more time deciding what flags to use on the title than to make the connections.

I agree with Andy :) I think 5 and 6 would be my second and third choices, respectively.
