I am one of the accused.
Let me start with, I accept King Achilles ruling and will abide by it. Now I would like to say, I never anticipated in my wildest dreams that our use of the invite system would be considered abuse. That doesn't make me a bad person or someone with questionable character. I just couldn't see a reason to join a team free style game unless I was ensured my team would go first.
I still do not see it as abuse but understand many others do and accept their might be flaw in my wiring which doesn't allow me to see it as abuse. Again, i will state, i accept the ruling and will not do it anymore. In my mind it was just sound strategy. I didn't feel like we were locking anyone into a game because they could drop whenever they wanted and many times a player did drop.
I apologize to anyone we offended but I am not going to apologize for doing it.
To clear up some misconceptions. We were not doing this for points. Yes I realize we accumulated points for our wins. We were doing to get a freestyle medals. This is not a justification for our actions just an explanation of why we were playing so many free style games. If you remove all of my points I have received in free style for these games I would still be a brig. I think if you look at the path of all our careers, you will notice that each of has steadily been climbing over a long period of time. yes I realized I reached the rank of general for the first time quicker because of these games but would have probably gotten there in due time anyway. In addition, anyone who knows me, knows I think rank doesn't mean crap. I have consistently been one of the higher ranked members in my clan but I am not in the top 50% of players in the Pack based on skill. I just play fewer maps and stick to games I am good at. Compared to my Pack brothers and sister, I suck but I am okay with that and they let me play with them anyway.
My last point is this. I have been "farmed". I was invited to play a 1 on 1 game on a map I didn't know, early in my career by a higher ranking player. I sent him a message stating I didn't know the map and wouldn't have a chance. He responded it was easy and would teach me. I joined, asked for assistance, got none, and lost badly. I did not going crying to my mommy, wet my pants or turn him in. I lost, learned a lesson, and didn't let it happen again. I went back the other day, found the game and checked my rating for the other player. i didn't even rate him poorly. I gave him 4s and 5s in everything. I joined the game, was pretty sure i was going to lose, and lost.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day...and someone on this site owes some of my clanmates a medal for a clan war we won several months back.
