3 and a half months since sully says he started the xml. might be a new record... :(

it's been 4 months since Victor Sullivan was supposed to work on the xml. since then he told me it will be done in 1-2 weeks at least 3 times. and each time i asked again what happened he came up with various excuses. lately he stopped responding to my pms regarding this xml. oddly enough he talked to me about other stuff. on april 26th i sent him one final pm telling him i'm gonna start looking for another xml writer unless he finishes the xml by sunday. he read and ignored my pm. now it's sunday evening so our collaboration is over. i don't know why he chose to act like this but it doesn't matter at this point. as of today zimmah will be taking care of the xml for this map.
here are the images changed to include zimmah's name:

still working on it.

may take quite a few days/weeks (probably not months, hopefully) still.

it's now something like 3300 lines and basically only did the territories themselves (and the borders, bombardments etc.)

still have to do the coordinates, and off course, the hardest part, the continents.

i also want to let you know that i am beginning a study in math next monday so i can only spent some time when i have energy left for it.

ok i think i have found a way to do this. i'll see if it works, i'll try to make a code snippet i can use for the orange continent first and see how far i get.

the basic idea is, i make a (hidden) continent that gives 0 bonus for each possible route (without adding the unneccesary routes). in above example i'd make 21 continents for all the routes between Herw and Kufyle. than i make yet another continent that has all of the other 21 continents inside it, and it also gives a 0 bonus, and it will be viable if you have 1 or more of the routes. and than i will make a list of continents that gives you 1 army for each set of supply routes you have. and than repeat the whole process to include capitals.

that would mean i'd end up with like maybe a thousand continents, so i'm not sure if i will exceed the limit for XML size (if there is any) but well, i can't really think of a more efficient way to do it.

you know what i'm most worry about though? that i forget a route or two..

when this map goes beta, please don't hesitate to let me know when you're not getting a bonus and state exactly which territories you own. because i'm quite sure i'll mess it up somewhere and it'll be a pain in the ass to look through thousands of lines to find where the mistake is :lol:
