Knights strategy.
Control the centre and it is easier to win. As this image shows, a knight in the centre has more options.
Playing flat/escalating or no spoils, the centre 4 squares are the key to winning. Even in games of more than one player. If you hold any of those 4, you have a better than even chance of winning the game.
Always reinforce from your back line and move your troops forward slowly. Mass attacks in non trench games do not work.
Be extra careful on where you place your troops, you can get lost very easily as the attacks are not normal.
Trench games, played a few and the best strategy is this, take 2 or each shield and just keep the opponent of them. If you go second, you need some more luck with the dice if your opponent does this, but a mass attack of all 16 blocks of troops can work to take 32 squares. But the luck of the dice gives you bad odds of doing this. A better way is to deploy your troops in a way as to be able to take out his when they move forward whilst still taking the same 6 shields.
Squares B3, B6, G3, G6 are the next most important as these can attack the shields directly.
