I think this is probably a part of lacks Invites 3.0 update / Notification Center 1.0, either of which should help!

Hmmm ... I just clicked on a link that brought me over to this thread. At the top of my screen it looks like this is in "Submitted Suggestions." So I'm not sure why it appears to you to be rejected.

FWIW, I support this idea.

Option to uninvite/kick from game

Postby crazymilkshake5 on Tue Apr 24, 2012 9:09 am

Concise description:
  • Ever had someone hack into one of your tournament games? ever invite the wrong person? Well with this feature you can simply uninvite the wrong person that you invited! and if they join, you have the option to kick them before the game fills up!

Specifics/Details:
  • This option will only be avalable to the people hosting the tourney.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • It will make it a lot easier for the Tournament hosters to get an unwanted person out of their games.

Already suggested multiple times. Probably a thread in submitted suggestions already. I support it.

Ability to Rescind Invites Sent in Error

Postby sempaispellcheck on Sat Aug 04, 2012 9:37 am

Concise description:
  • If an invite has been sent to the wrong player, the inviter could then rescind the invite so that they can immediately invite the player they originally meant to invite.

Specifics/Details:
  • Where now you see "Reserved [show/hide]", when an invite has been sent, one might see "Reserved [show/hide] [rescind]"
  • Once the "rescind" link is clicked, the slot that was reserved becomes empty again.
  • Invites rescinded by mistake could simply be resent.
  • Players whose invites are rescinded could receive an email saying something to the effect of: "Your invite to [Game]********[/Game] was sent by mistake and has been rescinded. [Inviter] apologizes for any inconvenience"

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • Inviters who send invites by mistake (like organizers of large tournaments) will no longer have to ask players to drop invites and be forced to wait until they do before being able to invite the right player.

This would be great. The TDs and TOs would love it especially. I believe that this has been requested/suggested before.

Could have used this suggestion twice today. instead i had to inconvenience another clan and have them remake a game :( (sorry uckuki!) This would be a great help to us war planners and TO's.

Yeah, as a tournament organizer, this would've been a great thing.

Many times I have invited someone that ends up unable to accept / decline. Seems like it would be a fairly easy thing - any replies on this one?

Well, I'd hate to see you posting alone in your thread. I know that feeling. This idea is awesome. I really don't see a downside, except that players who are signed up to get an email when they are invited to a game might get an email, then log in and find there isn't a game waiting for them. There'd need to be a follow-up email that clarifies the situation, I'd think.

And there would be. As I said in the OP...

This idea is definitely one that would be useful... I've wished we had this several times in setting up games and especially with tournament games

As one might expect, this has been thought of before, and it's in the Submitted Suggestions forum! viewtopic.php?f=535&t=152395

However, I like that you put it some more specifics.

Thank you, Sully. I think I missed that because I searched "invites" and not "invitations".

So, should I merge the two topics? And if so, how do I do that?

I think a suggs moderator would have to do that.

But I agree, this would make a lot of sense and would be very helpful, especially in tournament games. Much easier to just cancel an invite instead of having to drop the whole game and remake it. And I can definitely see the use in clan games as well. Even in regular games, lots of use.

This should be one of the next things implemented. It would be nice to get something that is actually truly useful implemented for a change...

It goes without saying that this helps anyone who makes games. It hasd benefits for those in the games who either have a random join or are forced to wait for someone to decline or drop the game.
