Possible to determine turns taken/missed counts?

Postby 72o on Mon Oct 01, 2012 1:00 pm

The ratio shows on your wall, I know, but I'm looking for the underlying data so I can determine how many turns I'd need to take to improve my ratio.

I fell to 96% when I took a 2-year hiatus while I had a lot of games going. I've been back and taking every turn, or nearly so, for quite a while, yet no movement to my ratio.

I don't think it is possible to see somewhere exactly how many turns you have taken and missed.

If you can code, you can write your own greasemonkey skript that counts it for you. Actually, this wouldn't be too much work, you'd just have to fit some parts of BOB into Map Rank.

I can't code. I'll just assume I'll be at 96% for some time to come. It appears that improving past 97% will be impossible.

you could count all the rounds of each of your 1660 games...
its actually not that much. you could read the round numbers off each game from the gamefinder(and your name)
but yea.. i think you are stuck for a while longer

just to give you a very general idea:
1625 finished games, with an average of ~12 rounds per game (just scrolled quickly trough an old, average and new page of your finished games... average could be 10, could be 18, but 12 seems like a good guess as any.) means 19500 turns taken, or about 20.000. missing 4% of that would mean 800 missed turns.

assuming you lose no more turns at all: 800/x=0.03, so x=800/0.03=26 666 turns.

VERY globaly, that would mean aproximately 6500 turns before you go up 1%.
obviously, this only gives a very general idea: you could easily be at 96.48% right now, meaning you'll be at 96.5, rounded up to 97%, very soon. OR you could be at 95.5%, meaning you'll really have to go the full 6500 turns.

to get to 98%, you'll need aprox 20.000 turns (going from 4%miss to 2% miss means you'll need double the amount of games) and going to 99% would mean aprox 60.000 turns.

note that these numbers can be rather inaccurate, especially the 97% one, but i think it'll give you enough of an idea to give up 98% for the time being. good luck! :p

So I need to play approximately 3 times the number of turns I've already played in total, without ever missing one, to get to 99%. Probably not very likely.

But thanks for doing the math.

yeah. its easy to see with 100 turns taken. you missed 4 turns out of 100. to get that down to 1%, you'll need to play another 300 turns, so you missed 4 out of 400 ;-)

no problem.
