I suppose because, it holds some sort of an ideal of society we all once held as children.
Even if we've since become disillusioned by the crushing realities, I know that at the time I could have sworn I saw that stuffed bear pass the sugar bowl to Superman.

If you can understand why some people are so obsessed with hating America, and you understand the way the Left hates, and understand that the Tea Party IS Constitutional values and limited government and individual Liberty, then it's pretty easy to see why there is so much obsession. Hating the Tea Party an easy correlation for those who spend much of their time hating America.

The teaparty in it's infancy probably had some noble ideals and objectives, but due to it's own popularity was infiltrated by vote seeking political hacks and repugnants and no longer has the ideals and morals it may have striven to achieve. It was a victim of it's own initial appeal.

Yeah it doesn't matter if you come up with a brilliant awesome humanitarian idea. Some asshole will come long and figure out how to subvert it for his/her own gain.

That does not mean it was subverted. It just means things don't always go perfectly, and the world is full of greedy assholes IE humans. The media was 100 times more effective neutralizing the Tea Party than any infiltrators.

Unfortunately, the Tea Party to many people on the left is "Sarah Palin is stupid and Christine O'donnel is a witch. That's all we need to know about the Tea Party".

False equivalency with OWS. The Tea Party got elected. Michelle Fucking Bachman got elected. The Tea Party is a much bigger deal than OWS because they're actively acting as puppets to the rich to allow them to continue to rob us blind. We need some trust busting too.

Wondering if anyone can take off their blinders and see both parties work for the same cause. Its just that republicans try to keep more money for their rich friends while making new tax exempt loop holes for big money to funnel through. Democrats on the other hand say they are helping people to form some type of utopia that will in the long run make only two social classes, the rich and poor. Guess where both parties end up? Rich of course. Everybody is getting played and they dont even know it. Wake up people and start standing as independent thinkers instead of sheep branded with an R or D. Like governments work for the people. What a joke! Governments of this world work for corporations and your the money supply.. So keep buying more crap and keep marching to your death.

I live in her district. She isn't going anywhere. She got elected, and re-elected, despite the Democrats making her target #1 and spending more money against her than anyone else. They ran this Teryl Clark trick (owned by George Soros), she got her monkey ass whipped

Are you sure Democrats don't do this???????????????

Yes, the Republicans are full of jackasses, but they are trying to address that and change the party (meeting resistance every step of the way, even from the most liberal democrats)

Generally, I am not down with the entitlement shop til u drop situation. Democrats keep trying to invent new special rights and privileges and monetary benefits in EVERY area possible, so I must oppose them, even when the main opposition is not perfect.

There are many good Democrats who care about issues deeply, but the Democrat party was taken over by the radical Progressives a long time ago.

Corporate America owns almost everything you see. If a person is born into such environment they know nothing more than whats being seen around them. If everything around them is consume what else do they know? Propaganda and subconscious submission is an art nowdays and governments and corporations are the masters of it. Most everything you see is so carefully scripted to coerce a person to think a certain way. Amost like its always been this way. When people say political they think republican or democrat. Thats not the case. Everything you do is political its just to what means does it serve.

First of all, there are a lot of differences between the Tea Party and the Occupy movement. But more importantly, being "forgotten" isn't always a bad thing. Having been constantly insulted by the mainstream media, going "under the radar" is probably the best thing the movements have going for them (and there is no single movement). They exist, debate issues, make decisions and attempt to have those decisions implemented. Since they are mostly grass roots organizations this generally tends to occur at the local level. Depending on the demographics they are often somewhat successful. If they are too successful then they are no longer necessary. If they are rarely successful then they are never noticed by anyone.

They are also never noticed if they manage to prevent major progressive agendas since the lack of a progressive event is a non event in the mainstream media and thus not worth reporting.

This happened back in July, anyone notice it? Tea Party torpedoes Law of Sea Treaty - By the left leaning Salon Dot Com.

And what about Agenda 21? Here we have a Reuters news article about the Tea Party and the UN Resolution.

If you don't know what Agenda 21 is, you're not alone - only about 15 percent of Americans do. It is a nonbinding U.N. resolution signed by more than 170 world leaders (including Republican U.S. President George H.W. Bush) at the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro as a way to promote sustainable development in the face of a rapidly growing global population.

A small percentage of Americans say it is an attack on their very existence - part of a grand conspiracy to take away their gun rights, destroy suburbia and turn America into a modern-day Soviet state.

So, the Tea Party has been racking up small victories since they were first proposed by that wild and crazy financial reporter at the Chicago Merchantile Exchange and pushed massivlely by Glenn Beck. Moreover they are under the radar now and not a frequent target of the main stream media's need to hate conservatives mantra. Reports of their death are greatly premature.
