Postby gordon1975 on Tue Feb 19, 2013 7:52 pm

when i got in to this site in 2006, i had already been playing risk on the board for years,im pretty sure everyone that has joined is an avid player of the risk board game ,but maybe im wrong? just wondering how many players that are out there now that are addicted to cc,that have never played the original game,a new generation if you will.
God can judge my enemies, i will arrange the meeting.

I loved the board game. CC changed my perspective of how to play it better and made it not as fun, but it was what initially made me interested in strategy.

I joined this game because it's so similar to Call of Duty.

This is totally true for me too. My brothers and I got risk just like we did any other board game and played it just about as seriously. Having to compete against all these hardcore people definitely made the actual game play less fun.

I've never played Risk. I got recommended here by my uncle in-law and my father in-law. I've always like something to keep me mentally stimulated, so when I found this I was hooked and went Premium shortly after being introduced. :D

Played Risk with friends almost every weekend for a good portion of five years. When I moved away, I had no one to play Risk with. So, I looked online and found this site. I got hooked right away and bought premium. But now I hang in the forums more than play games. I haven't been in the mood to play a game for sometime. Maybe I am waiting for someone to ask me to play?

I started playing Risk online, but then played the board game for the first time at the Annual Risk Classic. I take the whole "Advance 0" here on CC for granted. :-s

I just love rolling real dice more than virtual dice. :D

HA! I had a friend that practiced holding and throwing dice. He could hit "boxcars" more oft than not! Hated playing against him!

As a kid, I loved the "Do or Die" setting on Risk for DOS. My family spent many a night huddled around my 486 playing. Sometimes we played on the board at the cottage. Then Risk II came out and the RT setting was awesome for a while. The thing about this site is the new maps.
