What kind of stupid restriction is that? Just because I haven't played in a game doesn't mean that I'm likely to not finish the tournament...it's no indication at all.
Someone couldn't leave the site for a month (perhaps to prepare for finals, though that certainly isn't my situation), come back and want to play in a tournament?
I understand I can just play one game and it's fixed, but it just seems like a dumb restriction.
I don't know the details of the situation you're referring to, but in general:
When you haven't played a game in a month, you are removed from the scoreboard, and it becomes impossible for someone to invite you to a game. You can still join a game of your own volition, of course, but you cannot be invited, which makes it difficult for organisers who use manual invites.
I had this situation come up quite recently, when there were actually two people in one of my tournaments who hadn't played a game in a month and I couldn't invite into their games. I had to send them messages with the game numbers and passwords and in the end it was not a huge deal, but a nuisance all the same.
If this resembles the situation you are in, ask the organiser to send you the game number to join manually. Once you've take a turn in one game, he'll be able to invite you to others normally.
