And also what do y'all think of the graphical theme?

I'm starting to think that the crispness of the mountains is quite off-putting on an otherwise fairly murky map, although that makes them obvious as impassables.

The mountains and woods may look a lot different if their edging wasn't as bold?

Looks like a pretty decent multiplayer map. Why on earth would you restrict this to 1v1? As a 1v1 map it's terrible. Nobody enjoys 1v1 games on large maps. As a general rule, people enjoy games where there are about 7 to 15 terts per player. Less than that and there's not enough options. More than that and it becomes more work than play, keeping your empire organised.

I'm not trying to be negative here. I actually like the look and feel of this map. However, I wouldn't want to play with less than 6 players.

I think I might scrap the 1vs1 idea and totally reinvent the map for multiple players.

Watch this space.

I believe this is a good move. It is a nice map with a different look to it than normal.

I'm sure a total reinvention isn't needed - just a few tweaks ;-)

this reminds me of Arms Race!. you could get all or most of your troops on one side or you could be split evenly. too large to be a decent 1v1 map but would be suitable for 12 player games.

i don't get the Mystical bit. the theme is Feudal.

I like the name Mystical Era more than Trent Reznor. However, Mystical Era refers to a time more than a place, no?

[Moved] per mapmaker request into map ideas.

ManB, about the possibility to swap to 8 players....honestly if you're going to leave the current gameplay I have to admit that it would be better with more than just 2 players.

Personally I would like to see this idea become a final draft and then move to gameplay and graphics soon, but this it's up to you.
But this map, i think it's worth....
