Does obscuring the game log really help?

Postby blasterx on Wed May 22, 2013 6:40 am

In an 8 player game on a large map (Eurasia, Hive) fog should make it harder to know which continents are held by who and how may troops they get. It seems to me like the game log ruins that. It clearly says how many troops they get, and usually its easy to figure out which continents they have. Shouldn't the whole game log be unreadable? Only hiding the territory names doesn't seem work.

no.
There are suggestions rejected that do the same as what you are asking about, but not knowing anything is wierd to. Yes, with many maps fog games still give out information enough to figure out for the smart user, but it adds a bit of mystery. you can never be sure where everybody is all the time

obscuring the game log hinders your knowledge as it is not easy to see what the other players have.
