What Makes This Map Worthy of Being Made:
In CC there are a few fantasy maps!!!

The Copyright Agreement

The author retains copyright on their work, and gives Conquer Club permission to use the imagery free of charge, for as long as Conquer Club sees fit on the Conquer Club website. Conquer Club cannot sell, lease, or lend the right to use the images to anyone else. The author swears that their map is their own work, or a legal derivative work and by submitting it, do hereby claim all responsibility for that being true.

GAMEPLAY

This is a Standard map with several starting neutral territorires (30).

If you own all the Standard territories of a group you get the realative bonus.

If you own a Capital and the relative Standard territories you get an autodeploy of +1 in the the Capital
and you get access to the relative Extra territories

All the Capitals can bombard nearest territories.

If you own a Capital without the all the relative Standard territories you get a malus of -1 in the the Capital

If you own Extra territories without the relative Capital you get a malus of -1 in each Extra Territory owned

If you own all the Extra territories of a group you get another autodeploy of +1 in the the Capital.

From Extra territories you can only bombard nearest territories.
If you dont own the relative Capital you cannot access to the realative Extra territories.

looks nice, though isn't there a way to make the black lines blend in better?
The map itself looks nice, but the black borderlines ruin the landscape :|

In this phase i'm not working with graphics. I created all graphic before thenobodies told me that the first thing to do is the gameplay.

I'm very interested in graphic works and certainly all the borders will be repainted!

Welcome!

First of all, like I said in my last pm you should resize the map to have something that fits with the current standard sizes, if you need more space...then we will discuss this later but an attempt to a standard size is worth it, imo.

You have 68 territories right now, you said to me you want to reduce them...if my math is not wrong you should have 64 after the changes listed in your pm.
If you look at this list, you can see what are the best numbers that you can use for a CC map, the golden numbers.

If I look at the map I agree that some territories are unnecessary, honestly I would go with the changes you have proposed...we can balance out the drop later with some tricks.
I was thinking about a thing, how do you want the map is played? I mean, do you want a standard map or conquest style map? The standard is a map like classic, where all the territories are given out to players, instead the conquest map is something like feaudal war, where everything starts neutral except a territory or two in which players will start the game.
We can work a bit more on your project if we know what direction you are aiming for. ;)

More suggestion will come soon, but first I want to understand the direction you want to follow with the map and see it a bit smaller. O:)

I can resize the map but i fear the space for explanations (bonuses, bombardments, etc) will be insufficient!

For the Golden numbers i need more info. I dont understand.

The map i want to create is a standard map with several neutral territories: all the capitals and all the extra territories.
So there are anyway 29 neutral territories heavily defended.

Question: where are you gonna place troopnumbers on this map with some territories too tiny to leave space for both troopnumbers and territory naming? :|
Maybe you should merge some territories or expand some

Also if you get a -1 for every territory of a land you don't own a castle of, isnt that seriously gonna restrict the game? Seems like you have to build up within your own territory all the time and only move out once you want to invade another person'ts castle.
I think you should loosen up this aspect. It would just lead to stacking games each time and once you lose your castle you're pretty much dead.

thanks for the observatin.
Yesterday i created a new version of the map and i placed all the circles for the army. All work fine but the name remains short as you can see in the map version published!
I use the long name only in the xml file as in the "WWW II Europe" map.

The malus of -1 is a balancement for the tow advanta of bombard nearest territories and the certainty of not to be attacked (sorry for the bad english!)
All the "standard territories" excluding Capital are part of a "continent" and you get a bonus for it!
You can win the game without "extra territories"! These are Extra and give you an extra chance to win but aren't essentials

This is the latest version of the map, unfinished but more usefull to see the standarr and the extra territories, the Capitals and a kind of legend.

For example: if you get the territories from Hu1 to Hu7 (without Hu0, the Capital) you get a bonus of 3 army (provvisory).
If you get also the control of Hu0, the Captital, Hu0, with the light circle, you get a autodeploy of +1 in the Capital and you can access to your extra territories: from Lk1 to Lk5.
If you get all the extra territories you get another autodeploy of +1 in the Capital.
All the territories of the same group, Capital, standard and extra, have the name with the same color.
Now You understand?
If you get only the standard territories: from Hu1 to Hu7 you can win the game in any case.

Map itself looks good though and I like the concept, but I'm not sure conditional autodeploy is possible. You might wanna ask an xml expert about that one.

They need to make a library of the available Function for the game engine with examples and limitations stated. It would make designing the maps easier and faster, plus it would allow the XML experts to focus on possible upgrades instead of answering questions and for map makers a clear reference spot instead of trying to hunt down an xml expert.

I asked to Thenobodies80 before starting this map and he told me that all i wrote is possible.

First of all thanks for the observation.

I totally redrawn this map with Photoshop; i changed several originals locations and created new ones.
I think that all this changes are enough to "bypass" the copyrights.

now i see why you were being particular with the place names.

this map can't be made without permission given by the author of the books or whoever holds copyright to them.

You've done a lot of work, would hate to see it lost....
One of your biggest problems is your naming, a lot of the places not only look the same, and appear to be in the same location, but yet they also seem to have the same name.

Nothing is wrong with making a fantasy theme map... They can not copyright dwarves, humans, druids, elves, ect.. For they are commonly used in all most all fantasy based games. If you change the names and some of the major themes - you should be able to get away with it...

Change major themes like: instead of :
Skull Kingdom - maybe Cross Bone Kingdom and add two bone looking towers that cross over the skull...
Rainbow Lake - Crystal Lake, (still can use the rainbow graphics because it's not in the original - and can be story-lines in with crystal lake as such the lake fractures the day's light into a huge rainbow as if it passes though a crystal ...

I noticed in your drawing "Callahorn" has a huge crack or crevise in it, where in the orginal drawing it does not - so change the name to fit it - Like instead of Callahorn maybe "Calls of Hades" or "Crevise of Doom" - changes like this will make your map stand out and be it's own work instead of that of others..

Once you change all the names, and modify a few locations to make it your own - I think this could pass with out getting permission - but in my opinion - right now how it stands it is too similar - but it can be fixed.

Even with those suggestions he will still need to get permission from the author.
