Typically the competition would go until a winner could be determined. So, there isn't a set number of rounds necessarily. What happened in that tournament is that after the last round, there were 3 people that were 5-1.

epjh, so Beer Baron was the winner based on strength of wins.
I do understand what you're saying, but it's kind of taken care of in the tournament format.
