I apologize for a bad choice in maps and/or conditions. Thanks for understanding, and I do learn from each tournament and the feedback I get.

Maps where the opening move gives a starting player more than 3 or 4 troops is a problem. England is peculiar because it bonuses for large zones held exclusively (a.k.a. continents) and for having certain minimum numbers of counties within a larger territory. You probably need to stick to games that bonus on the basis of numbers of regions only.

Thanks, was trying for that. Definitely didn't succeed on this one.

Oops. :o :o

Consider it a bad bump or a hooked ski edge.

I will be on vacation until Sunday, 16th of June. I will be able to monitor things and hopefully fix minor problems. I will be working from an iPad, which while a wonderful device is not something I want to issue tournament games, etc on. I also have no access to BOB while on it, so updating stats may or may not happen. You can still pm me and I will get back to you, just maybe not immediately.

Back from vacation. All 5th round games out. It really is still anybody's race. The top 5 move to the finals.

Hey, just wanted to say I've really enjoyed this tourney after playing in the last one as well. It was a great change to make both the skiier and hill benefit from a quick win, and really makes you feel like you're on a roll when you're doing well! But on the other hand, any loss is then a HUGE addition to your score, and it kills you. And that's what skiing is, a game of small mistakes with huge consequences. If you're not the absolute best skiier, you'll be left behind. I've loved being the most efficient exterminator possible in my games because of this but I also hit a few bumps along the way.

So thanks for doing this!

And although I understand the sort of rationale for having 4-point increments on the hill's score, because they're hills and it sets them apart from the skiier, it's also frustrating to just barely not make the score cut on the defensive rounds (like a round 5 victory), but then to have each round count for the skiier. It's not such a bad thing, but it's just frustrating at times, like I said. What if the hill was divided into more obstacles and each round could count without being rounded down as much? Either 1 or 2-point increments. A thought for a future tourney perhaps.

Rock on man. Just wanted to give you that feedback :D [5]

Hi Silly Knig-it,

i know we're not quite there yet - but what does the final round comprise of? is it a repeat of all the maps and format from the first round?

My score is incorrectly listed for the most recent round, with a positive bonus score rather than negative. I bring this up because (at least currently) the correct score would make me top 5 in my group.
Jimfinn is looking for regular doubles/triples/quads partners. Please contact him if you are interested!

understood and agree. The next time I run a ski race, I am going to solicit suggestions on maps and settings that give the least or no advantage. Unfortunately, I was thinking variety when I set this up.
