Quartus de Wet wrote:The crime of which the accused have been convicted, that is the main crime, the crime of conspiracy, is in essence one of high treason. The state has decided not to charge the crime in this form. Bearing this in mind and giving the matter very serious consideration I have decided not to impose the supreme penalty which in a case like this would usually be the proper penalty for the crime, but consistent with my duty that is the only leniency which I can show. The sentence in the case of all the accused will be one of life imprisonment.

With these words, Nelson Mandela began his 26 year prison term.

To go from a black man in prison, to an internationally respected leader, one needs fundamental teamwork skills. As such, all the games are team games. As is the case of organized resistance, those in power will seek to deny your right to communicate effectively. With No Spoils and No Forts, your armies will be isolated. Can you work together to achieve the greater good?

RIP Nelson Mandela, 18 July 1918 – 5 December 2013

FAQs

Who can play a Challenge?
All challenges are open to everyone, although freemiums may have a problem meeting the game load.

How do we join?
All you have to do is a)create games that meet the requirements or b)join games that meet the requirements. They can be private, public or even tournament games. Team CC is not creating any games, the whole thing is done by users. There is a game-join link at the top of the first post.

What are the prizes?
For reaching the Challenge Goal you get one of the rarest medals on the site, the Challenge medal. Challenges only come around once, if you miss it, you won't ever have another chance.
Image
For completing the Challenge, one receives a General Achievement medal.
For scoring the most points in the Challenge: 1 Green Conquer Star
Image
For those who finish in 2nd-5th place in the Challenge and achieve the Goal: 1 Blue Conquer Star
Image

When do I get my prize?
Soon after you meet the requirements!

How is deadbeating dealt with?
Please report deadbeats in your games, I will do a random check. Inventory items will stay, but medals might be taken away if the deadbeats points do not allow for a medal.

Rulings
1. Deadbeats will have entry points stripped.
2. Wins by round limit count as normal wins.
3.Games can always have round limits but they never need to. Over-ruled for this challenge
4. Inventory relating to the challenge will vanish at the end of May.

Where do you see this?

If it s the case this is bollocks. The challenge medal has just turned into a "join the most games possible" fest. Unplayable for higher ranks.

Not only unplayable for "higher ranks" but also unplayable for those who have a life outside of CC. Disappointing since these challenges could be fun. Make the requirements less ridiculous and you would have one more participant.

Why is it unplayable for the higher ranks? It's not limited to lower ranks anyone can join.

That is definitely not the case. Check the Scoreboard here, see the section about Major Contest Rewards.

What you quoted there is misleading... I'm not even sure what the purpose behind that statement is, DY? Other than to emphasize that you do need at least 1 win to be considered at all...

I agree that it seems like certain players are able to win the challenge simply by playing hundreds of games.

Maybe there should be medals awarded to both the top point achiever, and top win/games played ratio (with an appropriate minimum games). I understand the ratio may lead to people no longer joining games once they achieve the minimum games played and have a decent ratio. But it seems like some players are turned off by the idea that the challenges are currently completely volume based, so the number of participants may be similiar under either scenario.

I like the monthly challenges. Just not big on the maps and options that are used.

To sign up, you join a game.

As opposed to signing up via PM or thread post.

Just like I predicted last month more people dropping out. All you have to do is switch the criteria for the general achievement medal and the challenge medal and more people would go for it. Sitting out again this month. The only thing this rewards is people who can join and play a ton of games at once. Anyone that has a sliver of a life outside of CC will have a hard time with this.

Notes

I missed the 20-round-limit demand on my poly-games, can they still count towards the challange, since obviously noone would create games with these stupid settings if wasnt for the challange? no forts.. its stupid enough to be obviously meant for this right?

EDIT; just saw i need to just join a ton of games to get this medal anyways so, i think i'll pass anyhow.. whats up with that the last months just joining the most games gives you the "win"?

april sort of made sense.. even though winner obviosly just joined 1200games joining 20 still was enough to clear the challange.. this is jus stupid..
/ :?:

EDIT: http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=14501922 game finished in 9 rounds anyways?

I will play for the GA but the CA is not worth it, especially when the settings each month are deliberately unpopular.

Edit: the scoreboard says it all. RICHARDJOHN is top with 104 points and hasn't completed a game yet. Base these challenges on quality instead of quantity and the winners will have actually earned their medals.
