Is there life on Pluto? Yes, but a good collar and a flea dip will cure most of it.

Fun challenge. Thanks for the education about the New Horizon fly-by.

Hope it's not too late to add this silly little guy as my avatar, but I only just now saw your challenge.

Actually, this rendering is so close to me looking in the mirror, that I hesitate to use it for fear that someone will recognize me by my photo! The only difference,I guess, is that this pic is missing one of my eyes. ;)

By the way, can the Scoreboard be fixed? It's showing the medals, but the score itself is zeroed for everyone...

Oversight on my part. Per the conditions, you must have 3 of each token type to be scored.

I have a lot of 12 player 3 team games open to get the gold medal. You would have a 1 in 3 chance of getting a win. Please fill them up.

Can we have a small 4 days extension to this challenge? Rules say the games must start between July 1st and 31, but the Challenge thread was only made at July the 4th, so we actually had less than a month to start the games. It's too short for such a demanding challenge, and those 4 "extra" days can make a huge difference. There are several 12-player games that have only 1-2 seats left to fill, at least let those count. So far no one achieved the goal, and if really ends here probably no one will, which would be sad.

I would say go ahead and fill the games. If there are people that would have benefited from the 4 day extension, we will add it in later.

Also, avatar medals are out. Thanks to everyone who sported them for the entire month!

You are making some of these challenges too difficult. You may not have anyone that even gets the medal for this month. You can't have so many games that require a lot of players. Many of these games never fill up and it makes it near impossible to try and get the medal if they are required. A coliseum win is going to prevent a lot of people from next months challenge, when you cant even create the game. Make these a little easier and a lot less dependent on if games fill and people will have more fun and participate more in my opinion. Just a thought.

The next one will be considerably easier. Thanks for the feedback.

Golly James. I've never had anyone complain about it being too hard before.

Perhaps you should reconsider the scoring for this challenge. As it stands, nobody will achieve it.

I fully agree!

May's Challenge, for example, had a very similar scoring system and even with easier goals it was a huge, full-month effort to achieve.

In this one, the bar has raised from 40 to 50 points. Doesn't seem much, but only 3 people so far did, the 4th is still halfway there, and the 5th has less than a third. So 50 points is much harder, tho one might argue that part is at least doable.

But real problem are getting the 3 Gold Tokens:

Getting 10-12 player games to start is not easy, winning those games with nuclear settings in such small maps require tons of luck (a coin toss on non-team games, and on All Your Bases it's basically random, check the logs), getting three wins is close to impossible. Some people complained April Challenge was too random (nuclear + assassin), but it was "only" 7 players, on a huge map, and no other tokens to worry about. This one took it to the next level, just see how evenly distributed the Gold Tokens are: 15 so far, up to the 33th player, and not a single player with 2 wins, let alone 3.

That said, may I suggest to lower the three-of-each token requirement to one-of-each?

It's a small change that will make a big difference, and it still preserves the original model and intention. And by no means it will make this Challenge anything but still extremely hard, as out of close to 100 players that won games (not counting those who just participated!), only a handful will get the award.

Hey James. You're awesome, man! What a cool challenge this has been for us! Thanks again for doing it!

Quick question: Could the 4 day extension be applied to the ending date as well? There are still some unfinished games out there (some are sooo close, like in round 19), that it'd be a shame to have those games excluded after all our effort invested into them for this challenge.

Thanks for your consideration and thanks again for this challenge! :P
