i know i said i will not post in the foundry but that doesn't mean i'm not following it. and to be honest i am amazed that nobody seems to bother to help qwert with the xml. we have several xml gurus around. why none of them takes 5 minutes to check it and correct what's wrong. same gores for andy that even if he's not a xml expert i'm sure he knows enough to correct the mistakes.
it's absurd to have the map done and simply fool around with the xml for the last 15 days.

ok so he had these errors:

xml has syntax error(s). see test results.
Test results:
line 182: <neutral>3</neutral> - Did not expect element neutral there

line 342: <neutral>3</neutral> - Did not expect element neutral there

line 540: <neutral>3</neutral> - Did not expect element neutral there

Summary: 3 errors and 0 warnings detected in westernfron.xml

now corrected.

then these errors:
Test results:

Warning: Territory OB WEST Keserling appears in multiple continents (Western Germany and Hold Any Three Stars)

Warning: Territory Field Marshal Model has border Colmar Pocket, but not vice versa

Warning: Territory Ardennes has border Field M.Montgomery, but not vice versa

Warning: Territory Milano appears in multiple continents (North Italy and Hold Any Three Stars)

Warning: Territory Toulouse has border Western Task Force, but not vice versa

Warning: Territory Field M.Montgomery does not appear in any continent

Warning: Territory Field M.Montgomery has border Belgium, but not vice versa

Warning: Territory General Bradley has border Ardennes, but not vice versa

Warning: Territory Paris appears in multiple continents (France and Hold Any Three Stars)

Warning: Territory Marshal Park D.G. has border Normandy, but not vice versa

Warning: Territory Western Task Force does not appear in any continent

Warning: Territory Western Task Force has border General Vietinghoff, but not vice versa

Warning: Territory London appears in multiple continents (Britain and Hold Any Three Stars)

Error: Continent France has component Field M. Montgomery which does not exist as a territory

Summary: 1 errors and 13 warnings detected in westfron.xml (7 continents, 39 territories)

now corrected.

also he was missing this:

<?xml version="1.0" ?>

now corrected.

and here is the correct xml:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/0yo2ti

now was that really hard to do? it actually took more to write this post than it was to correct the xml.

good thing i quit the foundry

Thanks Dim so much :)

Is London supposed to start neutral because it has a star? It's the only one that didn't.

Fog of War is on. It has nothing to do with this map specifically.

I not put London to be neutral, because after attack(bombardment) he will become neutral. All other can be conquer terittory so that why i put to be neutral(Look WWII EASTERN FRONT)

I've played this map a number of times, I like it a lot but it's unbalanced. IMHO it really needs a link from Italy to southern Germany. At the moment if u can capture Germany u can then just roll down in an anti-clockwise fashion and take everybody else out. What does anyone else who's played it think?

I agree. You can hold the entire NW quadrant of the map with one stinking country. Extremely unbalanced. And is there no way to get to the island up there other than bombarding? :?

Yup, that's the only way. Bombardment. You can't get that bonus if you don't have a territory there from the start.

WWII Western Front problem

Postby super Mario 009 on Tue Dec 04, 2007 8:50 pm

I dont know if this has been posted already or if this is the right forum but i just wanted to say something:

I think there is a problem with the WWII Western Front map. If Britain gets bombarded and all the armies are replaced by neutrals, there is no way to conquer it back. :|

It'd be better if you posted this in the actual thread, though.

But, on topic, the only way you can get to Britain is bombardment. If you don't start with a territory there, you will not get one there all game.

ok.

and that's what i'm talking about. There is no way to get it if it's all controled by neutrals.

in this game yellow started with all of england is the only way he can be killed bombardment, is it impossible to invade uk ?
Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

Yeah they really need to fix the England problem. The Germans were going to invade England but their Airforce,(lets see how my spelling does) Leuftwaffe, got killed. They would have invaded where the territory London is in. London is actually pretty easy to get to. If the Germans had a bunch of troops they could have landed, paradrop soldiers in London, then have the landing forces come and get rid the rest of the forces in maybe a couple days.
