Re: 1982 Falklands War [16/10] Version 7.

The map is actually very clear, and clarity/consistency are my specialty. MarshalNey is the guy who breaks down your bonuses and makes you weep for mercy. ;)

Re: 1982 Falklands War [16/10] Version 7.

Spelling correction:
- NavAl instead of navEl (unless you want a fleet that is having its crewmembers stare at their belly-buttons all the time, or has an unnatural obsession with citrus fruit)

On another tangent, the mountains look EXTREMELY plain, the woods look a little bit too speckled, like ...

Re: London [7.9.11] *** PAGE 9 ***

Excuse me while I bite my tongue on this one. Misinterpreted a comment as being a bonus value change when it was actually an agreement on the present value. I'll ask MarshalNey about the gameplay.

Re: Trench warfare1917 V8 [15 10 11] pg.4

With the FOX holes reverting to 1 neutral, they won't ever pick up the +1 per 3 bonus. Killer neutrals take effect before pretty much everything else, including bonus logic.

Because I've seen feedback by other people, feedback to which you have agreed. However, I never saw an update to accompany that feedback. Ergo, my confusion when you said "anything else?"

Re: London [7.9.11] *** PAGE 9 ***

It's what you get from a carto who was convinced that there was zero updating going on the map and thus he couldn't make any further comments until there was...then sees an "any more comments" post. I literally had no way to tell that you were updating at all, barring checking the first post every ...

Oh, there have actually been updates? I really couldn't tell due to them not being posted to the tail end of the thread, the topic title changing, or for that matter any notation of latest update date in the first post.

Re: Trench warfare1917 V6 [09 10 11] pg.3

What on earth do you mean by "converts to 1 neutral" in the legend? Does the one-way attack bombard, is the mentioned territory a killer neutral, what?

Re: Morocco [19 Aug 2011] v1, p1

As far as I've seen, supersize has been given in two cases: the concept literally needs that much space to make sense (R&C's Small, e.g.), or the extra space is needed to clarify elements on the map. Adding a single flavor territory doesn't really fall under that.

Anyways...good points about the HTML5, and honestly stuff is in the works that (I hope, at least) will get the ball rolling toward DiM's wishlist of consistent and useful updates. And as much as I hate Facebook Connect (my New Year's Resolution: delete my account), it really reduces the barriers to ...

The way Bridges and Canoes are placed in the legend, it's possible to misinterpret them as also being impassables. Any chance of simply naming the section "Passable" or some-such?

Now that I'm looking at it, the font for the bonus names does the letter "N" no favors that small. Any chance of a slightly different one?

I think this got missed, but LI7 is mistakenly capitalized so it looks like "II7" in the game log.

Re: RAIL ASIA [27.09.11] V10-P7 Changed gameplay

You've done a lot of Rail maps Cairns, and it's showing. My only clarity complaint right now is the fact that the DSH and TBS bonuses are mentioned by full name in the legend, with nothing equating the abbreviation to the full name. It normally wouldn't be that big a deal, but you've got a LOT of ...

Re: Why the censorship?

As a current member of the US military, I'm going to side on this being rightful censorship. While I agree with the actions taken in the operation depicted, it's way too much of a hot-button issue to be making a map about it. You might have seen on the news a little over a month ago about how a ...

Supersize for a single continent or even worse a single territory? That's a gross abuse of the supersize regulations and certainly not a justification to be allowed.

Re: Tokyo [17 Jul 2011]

Said bridge doubles as a landmark. To not have it different would be inconsistent with all the other landmarks.

As for the update, definitely better bridges than the black lines. Are the other bridges in Tokyo rather boring affairs unlike the Rainbow Bridge?

If adding it will kill the rest of the map's layout, there's really no point in adding it, in my opinion.

Re: Gettysburg [31/7/2011] V 7 pg 5

1vs1 isn't ideal compared to 4v4 Quads on Waterloo or 8p Freestyle Assassin on CC City Mogul. It still works and it's the modus operandi of some folks, but it's nowhere near as lucrative.

As for the "invalidating bonuses" idea, from a historical perspective it makes sense, but it will seriously ...

Re: Beta thoughts....I'm all ears

I agree with the "15 minutes of fame" philosophy, but I disagree with limiting the number of maps in Beta at any one time. I'd say go between DiM's Everything All at Once strategy and the current one. If there are several maps ready to go, two days separation between each upload. Some maps beta fast ...
