This isn't gameplay, but the shadow effect on the borders looks different depending on the continent color. This is most striking between the red Midt Jylland and the orange Sønder Jylland. I think it's by using the Screen blending mode, which switching to Normal and fudging with opacity should make ...
The change in the fences is good, but several of the connected fences strangely change from white to gray as they change territory. It doesn't look quite right. I would be fine with fully gray fences and fully white fences, but the gray/white we-ran-out-of-paint-for-your-fence setup is odd.
Is the lion with the heart a national symbol? I'm not that familiar with Denmark.
Also, the two territory connectors to Samsø look odd compared to the others. They're in a straight line where every other connector isn't, and though it has no rational basis makes me think that Samsø is optional when ...
Yes, I liked the roman bridges, it was only their perspective I didn't like. If you'd rather not engineer a different perspective (flat-on), then the present ones are fine. Also, I agree with Andy's comment about certain territories looking less bold than others (Baths of Agrippa and Temple to ...
Sorry Minister, I was tossing in a parenthetical comment there for humor's sake. IF YOU INSIST on constructive criticism...you know my opinion about your bridges going into the map when nearly every other symbol is on the map or slightly above it perspective-wise.
Could you copy the Daniel Rae / Benjamin Porter fence style across all of them? That one has terrific definition to it and doesn't get all muddy in single colors.
Illustrating that in this case, it's 2 pages ago. See, while 90% of the time it might be the last page, sometimes comments outstrip your ability to update. The page number is to definitely know where to go to see both the latest version, and any discussion since that version has been posted. It's ...
Dang, now we're just saying maps are adequate. Next thing they'll be "vaguely approximating the standard, perhaps not above it" or something similarly legalistic.
I really liked the border you had around the continent listing (now minimap). Any chance of putting it back on? Or did others have major issues with it?
The lucky charms map has only the epithet "Lynn." I was never told who that was, nor has anyone professed to having put it out.
As for the original, gimil didn't do that, and I'm also not sure who did. Minus a few minor tweaks (which might have been done by gimil, I forget), it was original to the ...
Classic Shapes was done by someone who went by the moniker "Lynn." I still to this day do not know who that is, and have never seen a post by said person in the Foundry itself. I went to bed one night with that map you've got there for Classic, and woke up the next morning with Classic Shapes in its ...
Congrats, and great work managing to take all of our (sometimes contrary) opinions together and improve the map with them. Hope that when you finish this one off you'll start another.
I have one major bone with this map: it has no soul. I don't get the feeling of London, or any other geographic region remotely related to England or the River Thames looking at this map. I see a brown splotch of territories that have names that may or may not be similar to burroughs in the capital ...
I'm going to have to say that the above opinions are valid were it not for one major thing: TeamCC won't allow it. While you guys were having a very great discussion about it in GD, we were having a very similar one in the private forum. This announcement is the beginning of a change of direction ...
I don't see a need for this revamp at all. The original isn't ZOMGTEHOWNZGRAPHICZOFAWESUMZ, but so what? It's clean, it's easy to read, and it's not an eyesore. I'm going to echo several others in saying that your time is better spent with new concepts, not by dredging up a past that doesn't need ...
Much better, supports the clean map rather nicely! I still think that having exclamation points for most explanation is overkill! It's as if we're exceptionally excited about conquering Denmark! And killing those who would possibly stop us! And blood! And glory! And stuff! (that's how the ...
I will say that I prefer the look of the bridges in the north and southeast of the map. They're simple, matching the style of the map. The others seem overly detailed, not fitting in as a result.
This is a conquest map? I just don't see it as conquest. I see it more as a standard map with dispersion bonuses. Perhaps instead of conquest just have starting neutrals to prevent freebie bonuses?
I really like the new fences, and the trees are a good addition to the darkness of the map (gogo autumn colors!). I do agree that the thickets don't work though. I can't put my finger exactly on what's wrong with them, they just don't look right.
I do believe you mean "Shields" (Shilds) and "Attack Ways" (Atack Ways). And this is my personal opinion but I don't think you need any exclamation marks on this map. Periods work just fine, the exclamations sound like you are hyperactively excited.
I'm going to piggy-back on that to say "increase the opacity majorly on the symbols." That'll accomplish what good ol' Gimmie is saying. As for the headlands, that's a good start but I feel like it needs slightly more definition. It looks indistinct.
I like the change in direction, but I'm struck with how perfect most of the territories look. We've got quadrilaterals aplenty all over. It doesn't really jibe with what I think of when I hear "Civil War." And while I think this is closer to Gettysburg than your first go at it, I'm distracted from ...
I still don't like the bridges, mostly due to their perspective on the map (which is angled back) compared to all other elements (which are side-on or head-on).
While the change to the colored territories is a good one, it makes all the "normal" ones look extremely plain in comparison. Perhaps a ...
