Re: Baseball: King of Diamonds (v14 p.25)

3,4 are triples, the ones down the lines are doubles and the rest are singles. And yea, natty has to switch the infield grass ones

I disagree, 8 is much more likely to be a triple than 3. You almost never see triples hit to the left of the center fielder. Of course it all depends on whose running ...

Re: Research & Conquer (Version 9 in P1 & P60)

Wasn't one of the points of making the TSFs bombard only that we didn't have to worry about people using them as a way to get to advanced researches without going through basic ones? In other words, a TSF can bombard everything but you need the basic techs to attack the advanced ones. I like "A TSF ...

Re: Baseball: King of Diamonds (v13.4 p.24)

All ballparks are shaped differently. I have no problem with the shape of the field from a baseball perspective. If there are aesthetic reasons for making changes then I'm all for it.

Re: Baseball: King of Diamonds (v13.4 p.24)

Unrelated XML question: is it possible to have the batter start with 1 neutral but reset to 2 neutral? Just so that the player who goes first isn't at a disadvantage for having to kill the extra neutral. The batter does need to reset to 2 IMO so people don't just stack on the pitcher and assault the ...

Re: Baseball: King of Diamonds (v11.1 p.17)

I'm not liking the scoreboard at all. It fills in the background but the rest of the background is so plain that I think the scoreboard looks out of place. Does everyone else disagree?
I'm completely with you. Personally, I think it was great with no scoreboard at all. I do think there is a way to ...

That's a cool pic, IH. I think there is a middle ground between something with that feel and pure graffiti. Although I'm getting dangerously close to talking out of my *ss.

Re: Baseball: King of Diamonds (v11.1 p.17)

I still think you should enlarge the scoreboard (maybe twice its current size?) and put it behind the field (so the parts that overlap don't show through at all).

Right now, the detail behind the title is really distracting and it seems out of place. Specifically, the the contrast between the ...

That works. I think its best if we leave the gameplay as it is for now, don't want to open up that can of worms :)

Re: Research & Conquer (Version 8 in P1 & P58)

I'm a little worried that "starting" will be misinterpreted since all 6 homelands are "stating" homelands for someone. What about "+6 bonus for holding each original homeland" ?
or "+6 bonus with each corresponding homeland"?

Wouldn't that imply that if you start with, for example, the E and W ...

Re: Baseball: King of Diamonds (v11.1 p.17)

I think the scoreboard should either be a graphic that is part of the title or a background. Right now it is its own graphic but is also supposed to be behind the title, and I don't think that works. As a background, it would give the feel that I think a few people wanted, but you can still put the ...

Re: Baseball: King of Diamonds (v11.1 p.17)

Ya, I'm not sold on the title on top of the scoreboard, and I see that my original suggestion might not fit on the small map. Maybe you can make the scoreboard really big and semi-transparent and put it behind the field so you can only see the top right of it (if that makes sense, I don't know ...

Re: Baseball: King of Diamonds (v11.1 p.17)

Having the blue 42 would also be a nice addition to the map, although it doesn't have to be on the scoreboard. Parks put the retired numbers (including the blue 42) in very different places.

Re: Baseball: King of Diamonds (v11.1 p.17)

I'm not a fan of the scoreboard. It doesn't look like any major league scoreboard I've ever seen. I suggest basing it off of the scoreboard in Fenway Park in Boston (easily the most famous and recognizable scoreboard in probably the most historic park):

Now will the army circles be centered around the bigger circles (at the players feet) or centered on the players?

Not a fan of the arrows, but the circles work pretty well. Maybe tone them down a bit (or a lot) as right now they are a bit distracting.

Re: Philadelphia (GP)- updated 2/17 pg 11

I think the bricks have potential. If you do keep them, I think it has be be going for the graffiti look, in which case the water would need to have the same texture. Maybe you could add more "smudges" like in the bottom left so it doesn't stand out so much.

Re: Baseball: King of Diamonds (v11.1 p.17)

I like the CC star. Can I suggest removing the stripes from either inside the diamond where the star is or at least inside the circle that contains the CC star? It would make it easier to see the star, and usually they don't mow two patterns on top of eachother.

It seems like it needs to start with "PlayerX no longer holds ..." but I like "PlayerX no longer holds a Base and freezes to death." Give some spice to the otherwise boring game log.

Re: Baseball: King of Diamonds (v11 p.17)

The gloves look palm up to me. It makes more sense for them to be palm up (whether or not they are now) because then the army circle is like a ball being held in the glove.
