Re: Denmark v17 [04 Sep 2011] pg7

Cairns was right about keeping the royal flavor to the map, it's a 100 times better with it. Keep the queen in for good I say ;)

Your bonus structure looks alright. I'm not a huge fan of the +1 autodeploy for the cities- I think the victory condition is enough- but nothing looks seriously amiss ...

Re: All Your Base Are Belong To Us[03.Sep.11] - V8 p1&8 - St

The map's look/layout seems excellent to me, and the title is hilarious (even if it is sort of a internet inside joke).

As for the gameplay... I think the framework is sound, but frankly the text is a real eye-buster. I really like how good the font is thematically, but it needs to be legible first ...

MarshalNey: that sounds great. If/when you take an official action could you either explain its significance or PM me and do the same? As I newbie I'm not sure what each stamp implies for what I'm supposed to be doing, or not doing any more.

OK, the stamps are the Foundry's way of saying that the ...

Re: Night of the Zombies! (2nd draft) - Human POV

For as many killer neutrals as there are in the map (albeit at only 1s for the most part), I think there are way too few bonuses. This will quickly become a stack war, with players deploying 3 troops and ending for the first several turns of the game at least. I just can't see much fun until the ...

Re: ROME [3/8/2011] V 1 pg 6

I'm going to consult about the gameplay with fellow CAs; if there are no issues then I'll put it in the bulletin and then to stamping.

Although, I still think the bottom right corner should read "Earn a +4 bonus for every four gates", not any.

Re: ROME [3/8/2011] V 1 pg 5

I ask whether in fact I have to do any statistics since now there is ZERO chance of any bonus on the drop? [Besides, I downloaded the spreadsheet and find that it does not work for this map - not even close]

No, no need to do any statistics for the reasons you stated, just included the link to ...

Re: Baseball: King of Diamonds (v15 p.27)

But what about team games. You can still be useful to your team even if you can only deploy.

Good point, but really in that specific case, maybe the team should be careful to keep you active in the game. After all, it seems a bit silly if a guy in the Iraq map can be helping his team with troops ...

Re: ROME [3/8/2011] V 1 pg 5

Frankly, I think that starting with only a handful of terts is less of an evil than players starting with bonuses. I'm going to make all bonus terts start neutral - twos and threes as mentioned above. Then there is ZERO chance of dropping onto a bonus, and that's perfect. New map to be posted ...

This is a map whose gameplay I keep wanting to comment about, but every update just keeps going in the right direction so I hold my tongue. Letting you know that I'm following the map's progress and it looks good. I was really tickled to see this one back :)

A few clerical typos/grammar-

Ughhh, I wish I was worth a damn when it comes to graphics advice... this is probably my most-anticipated map in the Foundry right now, and I feel that I can offer little other than encouragement. Don't despair, RB, although I may not be commenting, I'm certainly following along.

I forgot to mention that the "Part of No Bonus" sign next to San Marcos should probably go. It does give a bonus, after all, so it's just a potential area of confusion for players.

The small map is looking good- can you post a version with the numbers included? (the 888's)

Re: Gettysburg [31/7/2011] V 1 pg 2

First the easy reply - regarding the impassaables: I originally had none but someone made the good point that a few would help. I chose the Roundtops one not because the line couldn't be crossed, but because in the historic battle the failure to take the Round Tops was critical and well-known. The ...

Re: Gettysburg [31/7/2011] V 1 pg 2

I love the graphics and the simplicity of gameplay, but I thought I'd put in my 2 cents as far as history goes, since I did a lot of research on the War With a Dozen Monikers that is commonly referred to as the American Civil War, and a ridiculous amount in particular on Gettysburg in preparation ...

Although I didn't see this thread in time to vote, I personally think the concept of a zombie map from the zombie perspective is... well, delicious . I'm not sure if you received feedback on the idea from other quarters, but I wouldn't read too much into a poll where only 4 votes were cast. My ...

Great feedback Marshal, that's a lot of the info I needed. An update is coming now, but one question would be with regard to the build-a-bonus for the Spanish fort. Do you see that as being in addition to the +5 or lowering the +5 to say +3 (which I have done for this next update), then having the ...

Chiefs .... 9 available... 5 open deployment... bonus ratio: +3 per 4 regions or +5 per 5 regions
Weapons (tomahawks, bows).... 6 available.... start neutral 3.... bonus ratio: +2 per 1 region ...

Re: Tribal War - Florida v5.2 [7 Aug 2011] pg9

Looking at the bonuses more closely, this map seems to be a bonus-rich environment. So DiM's arguments don't concern me greatly, as there are plenty of regions scattered about that offer high-benefit for medium-risk. No player should be left out of the bonanza, even in 8-player games.

That said, I ...

From my perspective, the right questions are being asked here, but as Coleman points out, unfortunately, the stats can't give even modestly reliable answers.

Re: TRAFALGAR [28 Jul 2011] P42-V55 Adjusted Version

Actually, I think this map is overall fairly straightforward. However, one thing that did take a bit of puzzling out was the nature of the Lee Line vs. the Weather Line- their location is not labeled anywhere on the map proper, and so must be inferred from the dashed line in the legend. I'd ...
