That yellow "province" at the top is hard on the eyes with blue and green armies in there. The blue and green blend together and it it tough to recognize which is which. Maybe it is just me tho....
We did a realtime this morning with 5 players of high pedigree and the feedback was very positive. I am adding it, personally, to my shortlist of maps I will play. Great job on the color layout and the aesthetically appealing writing. GREAT!
Just tossing an idea for a triples map (Japan vs US) of having a Pacific Theatre with all the major battlepoints of WWII on a map. Still brainstorming, but they can include the following:
Hawaii Wake Midway Tarawa Iwo Jima Guadalcanal Burma Bataan Borneo Singapore Bali Sumatra Rangoon Java Santa ...
This might seen frivolous, but a line connecting Spain with Morocco would be helpful on the map. It isn't real obvious with the Mediterranean between the two that that is a valid attack point.
Is there a Japan map? Seems with all the feudal wars with the samurai back in the day that that would be an excellent foundation for a map. See "Sword of the Samurai" or "Nobunaga's Ambition" ... maybe a China map from "Romance Of The Three Kingdoms" would be playable also. Just tossing some ideas ...
I haven't thought this completely through, but the stipulation should be to those with a "games played" >1 in order to cash in on their points. Just a quick idea though.
Hidden Armies in Castle Risk: in the boardgame, you write on a piece of paper a province/country where these "hidden armies" are before any armies are deployed to open the game. The worth of these armies depends on how many cards have been turned in as turns progress. Once you occupy that province ...
If that is the case, it should be notated in the documentation that 2 players can play at the same time. I was of the impression that 'freestyle' didn't mean 'same time', but was saying that there is not a sequence in player play.
as of this moment, I become a deadbeat. How is it that you can have 2 players in the same game, attacking each other at the same time?! Seems that there should be a lockout when one of the players are in the game and THEN another can join in. I was about to take out someone and 45 armies ...
