Re: Printing Help needed.

My best suggestions is likely:

1: .png
2: flash drive should be fine
3: No real trick... I did take a really big map cut the image into 4 equally sized smaller images. Worked out pretty well, but you don't likely want to tape together a poster... The cost is gonna be nasty too. :? :evil ...

Re: New York City [Quenched]

Just a heads up. you never want to send a C&D or correspsondance to the actual site own. The SGN admin would just wipe their ass with it. It's always better to send it to the sites webhost, as they are far more likely to force the owner to pull the image, especially if the C&D names the host as well ...

Re: A NEW CONQUEROR IS CROWNED

Yeah I barely raise a eyebrow these days... another Conquerer using Mogul or whatever niche map to climb the charts. Being Conqueror is not a sign of excellent play or strategy, but rather the relentless pursuit of singular goal at all costs.

Horizontal stats repositioning.

I found this greasemonkey script that repositions the states to above the map to fix scrolling issues.

Re: Game Statistics

Why are people romanticizing the busy work? Counting territories and armies does not take skill nor strategy. It's simple busy work that takes time, of which mine is rather valuable.

Let's move on from that ridiculous point.

p.s. this update was implemented really poorly. Horizontal scrolling... c ...

I had this set to overlay 75% As you can see i masked out most of the middle. This is a PNG with transparency.

Re: Game Page Layout Discussion

It's just slightly irratating that we in the map foundry have been limited to what width map we can make, and then Lack goes and tosses in huge width feature.

Excellent point =D>. Couldn't possibly agree more.

On a slightly side note, in the next month or two some redesigns may help give some ...

Re: Fractured America [D, Gp] Which Version? pg.37 New Poll!!

You need to mask out the important parts, and not just use a blanket fill layer. Keep the edges darker where there is less relevant info. When I said darker, I did not mean literally. I meant figuratively, though i think the colors are too bright.

Re: What is your opinion on the foundy?

I think it is good that the foundry guidelines are not 100% detailed and clear. It allows for some wiggle room. Otherwise you will have some jack ass meet all the technical requirements and start yelling "move my map to the next level, for I have satisfied all the technical requirements stated in ...

Re: Game Page Layout Discussion

Lack already knows the screen resolution of every CC users, as its all in Google Analytics. So he should know which width is best for the most amount of people.

It seems like the most realistic fortification method would be to combine adjacent and unlimited. So each turn each country with more than one army can make ONE adjacent fortification. It seams silly to have only one army to ...

Re: Fractured America [D, Gp] V12.8 pg.35 New Poll!!

I agree with mibi.
Darker would look better.
You don't even need to go in and change each color, just put some layer effects to make everything a bit darker, which is probably what mibi did to make his example.

yeah, just did a black fill layer overlay at 75%, and just masked out areas with a 10 ...

This map is solid visually, but I wish it were a little 'darker' given the subject matter. The pastels just are not working here.

Re: 150 After Hijrah: The Battle for God

I won't comment on the gameplay but allow me to make a couple of suggestions to the theme and artwork.

1. First of all, unless I am mistaken, Hijrah or the 'Battle for God' is not known to most people. There is no explanatory text at all to help the player get into or understand the rhyme and ...

I always thought this picture was cool.

The circles are sized based on that item's share of the federal government's discretionary spending budget. This was 2004 figures, so not current, but still interesting.

Re: What is your opinion on the foundy?

I disagree, the public opinion should be heard. After all, it is the public that is going to play these maps. It's up to the mapmaker then to decide which suggestions he should use and which discard.

After all, no one is forcing the mapmakers to follow every suggestion.

I guess I make two, then ...
