What constitutes a "battle" in the dice stats Battles tab?

Sometimes it seems like its one roll and sometimes it seems like it could be multiple rolls from the same attacker to the same defender, whether you use crazy dice (auto roll) or not.

I am not sure if you are a professional Risk player but in my work I employ a couple of these millenials and they are very reliable, honest and do what they say
