Re: 150 After Hijrah: The Battle for God

Yes, PLEASE put up a poll about the map graphics. Find out if people really do support the outer space theme, or if they would prefer a different style.

Re: 150 After Hijrah: The Battle for God

I have just skimmed (ie not read in great detail) this thread - and it appears that the biggest criticism of the map is the lack of thematic integrity.

Personally, I would take some time to address this concern.

Pork and Rask, you guys really should listen to MrBenn.

UPDATE...THE FIRST...POST!!!!!!

And I agree with what others have said, the outer space graphics really detract from the overall theme of the map. You are describing a historical event, but you're putting it in a sci-fi setting, making things really confusing.

Re: POLL - Do some players use cheat codes?

Here's an interesting post Robinette made a few years ago. With this trick, I got my score up to nearly 3000 points before I got bored with it. Cheating really gets tedious and boring at times.

Legitimate cheating is really difficult on this site...

I thought that was the whole reason you were making it upside down. To represent how they saw the world.

Your first post looks like crap.
Put Pork's version up there, even if it isn't finished yet.

And whats with all the lucky charms shapes? Does each symbol means something different?

Why are you using that map you have in your first post instead of Pork's version?
His looks quite a bit better than what you've got now.

EDIT: Go update your first post! I had assumed that the mess you have on page one is your most recent image. The point of updating the first post is so we can see ...

If you have a few close friends you want to invite, I'm sure that would be fine.
Just don't go sending your invite to every person that has ever visited the forums. That'll just make people mad and give your group a bad rep.

does that mean that if you were to print out your Ukraine map, It would be less than 3 inches by 3 inches?

pretty much.

If he's planning on printing it at 300dpi and having a high quality image, his picture should be very big. Near 10k pixels wide, at least. He just has to resize his image a lot ...

Re: 'Troops' or 'Armies' or 'Units' ?

why not just build in a quick XML feature that can specify what word should be used with the map?
Then each map can have a custom name for its units. Such as 'soldiers' 'armies' 'warships' 'aliens' whatever you want.
