Guaranteed Suggestion Implementation- Round 4

Postby JamesKer1 on Tue Jan 06, 2015 5:59 pm

Hey Community!

I'm not sure if you have stopped by Suggestions in a while, but we have been holding open nominations for any feature that the community would like implemented. BigWham has guaranteed the implementation of any feature chosen within some set limits, and his approval. Below are the chosen suggestions:

show: Cycled Suggestions

After a few days, the results will be sent to BigWham, and he will implement them as soon as possible! Note that this thread is not for nominations- nominations belong in the Suggestions thread, as do other comments about this project. Thanks for voting!

As an added incentive, the suggester of the final suggestion will receive a General Contribution Medal.

History of Implemented Features
Round 1: Auto Login
Round 2: Clan Tab
Round 3: Game Finder Pack
Round 4:

NEW CHANGES FOR ROUND 4:
  • Voting will be in a CC based poll. No more Survey Monkey.
  • Suggestions will begin to be "cycled out"- those that are less popular will receive fewer appearances
  • We are now at an undetermined quota for popularity- this project will remain guaranteed as long as it gets enough support. So make sure to spread the word as much as possible.
  • In order to meet the quota, we will be using fewer suggestions in each voting session, and therefore create a backlog in nominations. It may take a few rounds before any further nominations appear.

some of these was not mentioned guaranteed suggestion thread any reason why they made this list
one of them not even been commented on since 2013 "Game Finder Sorting" probably others couldn't be bothered to look

I started a basic list of suggestions to get the ball rolling, with BigWham and the community, and I kept the list in the post. If you would like me to take them out I can.

There's been quite a bit of support for sound effects and/or pop-up videos.

It would be great to add a Surrender button. Particularly for Trench games, and your team mates have been defeated so it is a matter of time before your dead. Can turn all holdings to neutral. Last player wins.

Perhaps you could add a 5 card option. Currently you have Zombie, Nuclear, Flat Rate, and Escalating. Could there be a game mode that rotates between these options? Or randomly change to 1 of the four options after each person cashes? It would make for some pretty crazy twist and turns in the game. I think it might add some really interesting dimensions to the games, and hopefully wouldn't be overly difficult to program since you already have the foundation. ( I know nothing about programing, so I might be totally wrong about how hard it is.)

surrender button in 2 man game seems easy, less desireable because more complicated and dynamic in multi-player game

Are people stupid? How hard is it to save your password within your browser or just type it out each time? Why not vote for something that benefits the game? Idiots.

Agreed! I can't even fathom what kind of catastrophic stupidity would make someone vote for something that unimportant when so many good suggestions were on the table.

If the degradation to the mobile platform continues I might have to look at freemium because that might be all I can assure myself I can get to. Is it time to look for a site that truly supports tablets?

Great, something which
a) was literally the worst choice on the list
b) will increase server strain
c) will decrease the point of the online status indicator
d) reduces chances of Conquer Gods random event?

10 pages? Is that all?

The people have spoken for 67 pages on a resign button, 51 pages on rank restricted games, and 35 pages on unrated games. The people have spoken, but no one is listening.

Unfortunately,
This thread seems to be only to pacify the small vocal mass we have here.
Not many users even look at the forums. Would it not be wise to send a "Mass"
PM to all members and ask them what suggestion should be implemented first?
I would think that would be more wise than this "shot from the hip",
"knee jerk reaction" idea.

Your intentions are good here and I have no intention of making anyone look bad....just think you would get a wider understanding of what many people would like. Your intentions are good here.

You guys are funny...

As far as I can tell this idea will be guaranteed implemented but that doesn't necessarily mean the other good ideas wont be implemented does it?

I also agree with the person who mentioned most players wont ever find your survey as they dont really use your forum. The winning idea had 18 vites out of how many people who use the site? Even if you just count active paying accounts I have to imagine 18 is a very small percentage of them...

I think I did vote for the idea that won, but after hearing the downsides others brought up (particularily sever strain mentioned by yoshi) I would be happy to change my vote! No arguments for or against any of the ideas were brought up in the survey, so I basically voted without really 'the full picture'.

Anyway maybe someone could answer me this... Was my idea above of have a 'random card' or 'rotating card' gameplay option i even feasable or if that would be really hard to program?

A nominations thread was held in Suggestions a while back. Only suggestions posted in that thread were sent to BW for feasibility approval. After the list was approved, the poll was created and I couldn't mess it up without skewing results.

Some of the ideas - which I realize in hindsight were new suggestions - that were nominated weren't added because I couldn't find a link. My hope was for there to be a thread for each suggestion nominated, whether it be old or new.

Another note- the suggestions that met the criteria were very simple suggestions that would help users. Suggestions like No Advance and Semi-Auto Assault were interface changes, making the coding very hard. Map Rank was also a popular suggestion, but it is a project that has been tried before and shelved due to impossibility of coding. There were a lot of issues with it that couldn't be fixed.

I got enough complaints when it was made a forum announcement, appearing in all forums. Sending a PM would be that on a larger scale, though I may try it next time.
