Conquer Club

Hello friends and acquaintances.

I would like to announce my official retirement from ConquerClub.com map making. My time here in the foundry has been a great one and I have learned many new skills and talents. While I enjoyed CC mapmaking immensely, I no longer have the desire or will to participate in the map making process here. I have moved on to other forms of cartography and have recently picked up my first for-profit gig so I need to focus on that an other areas of my nebulous web of personal projects which is expanding exponentially these days.

I do still plan to be on ConquerClub and even participate in the forums, but henceforth there will be no new maps coming out of this camp. The foundry is going strong and producing ace material and look forward to all the new maps coming out in the future.

That said, I still plan to continue development on Trench Warfare on a timely basis and I also have a map in private development with WidowMakers that I will offer support on.

For those keeping track, here is a summary of my various contributions here.

1.Siege!
2.D-Day: Omaha Beach
3. Battle for Iraq!
4. Arms Race (game play)
5. Supermax: Prison Riot
6. The Trojan War: (no plans for further develoment unless the size restrictions are changed)
7. Skyscraper! (no plans for further development)
8. Epoch (no plans for further development - by me)
9. Trench Warfare! (will continue development)
10. "DR" collaboration with WM.

The talent level here has really risen to quite a standard from when I first started making maps and I can't wait to see what it will be like in another year or so.

Ah, Breaker Morant, I do love that movie...

The foundry will miss ya, mibi. You've done some amazing work here.

It has been and will continue to be a pleasure working with you on one of your final masterpieces... Trench Warfare is gonna be the shiz-nit, as the kids say these days.

I will definitely miss your creative way of giving advice, which always made me "lol."

i'm not going anywhere. but I won't be making and more maps. I've reached the point of diminishing returns in terms of what I get out of the process.

you'll come back to maps too
one day you'll get an idea and say to yourself: "this is bloody brilliant, a map about my socks taking over the clothes drawer, we can have smelly bombarding and stuff, i have to do it" and you'll get up grab the PS scan your socks do some layers and before you know it we'll have a brand new map called:
"SOCKS: smelly business!!!"
