Agree, but furthermore you might want to move all relevant information by the icons, so that the information about Red 2 is by the Red icon.

While I like the same # idea for being able to 'sneak' bonuses in foggy games, I think Evil makes a good case for keeping the legend simple, while at the same time giving players the carrot that they need to get out and expand.

I was thinking along the same lines with the legend organization. I suppose I can cut out the +1 per 3 for the white spaces, but I am gonna keep the +3 for the first white space.

Hmmmm... what do you think about EvilD's suggestion of
"+2 for each letter in which you hold a white space"

This condition essentially includes the "+3 for the first white space" except that the bonus is reduced to +2, but it also keeps giving out every time a player takes the 'first white space' in a new letter set.

Also were you thinking of replacing the +1 per 3 white spaces condition with +1 per every two white spaces subsequent to the first (first in the letter set that is) condition?

I guess what I'm asking, do you mean to have the white space bonus like this?

+3 for the first white space
+2 for each letter in which you hold a white space
+1 for every two subsequent white spaces within the same letter

Okay, I think I got the white space bonuses figured out. I've gone along with ED's idea a bit, but adjusted the bonus, because +2 seemed a little high to me:

+3 for the first white space
+1 per 2 white spaces in the same letter group
+1 per white space in a different letter group [so basically have this instead of the number bonus]

Sound okay?

Yes, I do. +1 for 1 is still a lot better than +1 for 2. +2 just seems overpowered to me.

I'm confused as to what your red spaces in the legend is saying. So, at the start of each turn, if decays 9999, decays 2, then resets to 5 (in some order)?

No, red territories ending in that number do that stuff. Do I need to be more clear in the legend?

Perhaps, since you refer to "Red 2" in the last sentence, it seems inconsistent. So you could use "Red 1", "Red 2" and "Red 3" for the descriptions of what they do.

Or, just use '1st Red', '2nd Red', '3rd Red', although that doesn't exactly correlate to the numbering. But it still might be clearer...

I'm not sure that +1 for a new letter group is enough, since a player would also have to conquer through a safe zone or two to reach the new group. However, I can save this reservation for beta -- if we see that players don't have much incentive to leave their letter group, you can change it to be +2.

Well, I'm still not sure how this would play but I think I can sticky it now and when the Surveyors take a look at it they can make any suggestions they might have.

Some questions: :)

- The small coloured symbols in the safe zones are just decorative?
- White spaces....the letter group in the legend is referred to the nest letter? And again +1 for 2 white spaces that share the same letter? of your nest or just the same letter?
- Isn't safe zone a strange name?....they don't seem a so safe place. ;)
- Home, do you really need it can assualt nests? Why i need to come out of there if it gives me the victory?

Talking about graphics, i agree with the.killing.44, the text in the small version needs some care.
Could you please post also both versions with 888? (or write a rough xml)

Same letter; the bonus has nothing to do with the nests.

They are called Safe Zones because thats what they are called in Pachisi.

Just an added effect for Terminator and Assassin games. I suppose with the Red 2 bombardments it may not be necessary, but I think I like it that way ;)
